This is a great location for exploring Venice and provides you with a great base. The staff (particularly Manuel on the reception) were very friendly and willing to help from the very start. Perhaps the only downside was that the breakfast was nothing spectacular, but this wasn't such a big deal for us.

The location is the best thing, but the rest is not matching the per night price.
The staff is not friendly
They refuse to open the air condition assuming its not allowed by the city. ( maybe its true) but i didnt like how they told me

Dear Sir/Madam,
thanks for the time you spent in post your comments about us.
First of all, as the reception staff told you, air conditioning is not working in winter time, we have the heating on .
Our staff is our goal, always very helpful and attentive...really I don't undersand what you mean ...
Regarding the breakfast there is a big selection of food, daily homemade breadrolls and cakes, products of our bakery: hard to define it poor ....and our staff is at full disposal if you need anything special.

Best regards

What was meant to be a long sought-after break from our daily routine kicked-off with a rerouted flight to Verona Airport due to an accident at Marco Polo Airport. Arriving two hours later than scheduled after a heavily-loaded bus ride provided by Alitalia Airlines, my fiancee and I were relieved to finally walk into the hotel, where we were warmly greeted by the friendly staff.

We were soon handed the key to a simple yet spotless room on the fifth floor, which was effortlessly accessible by elevator and offered a view of the peaks of the Basilica Di San Marco and the Campanile.

Our earlier misfortune was further shrugged off when we discovered the hotel's proximity to Piazza San Marco. I smile at the memory of our surprise when we stumbled into the breathtaking square barely a minute after stepping outside. Simply walk down Calle Dell'Angelo and turn right into Calle Canonica. The hotel's location was to prove crucial during two consecutive nights of the city's accursed acqua alta and whenever we needed warmer clothing or a bathroom.

Breakfast was also a delight with a simple yet tasty choice ranging from hams and cheeses to scrambled eggs and bacon. The hour-long daily free cicchetti buffet offered by the hotel's wine bar also served as an excuse to regain our strength after a long day of sightseeing and, well, an opportunity to down a drink.

One afternoon, when we decided to stop by to drop off a couple of shopping bags, we were also delighted to find a member of staff knocking at our door and bearing a plate of complimentary fried pastries, customary to the carnival period.

So while I dare not argue with those reviewers who criticised the hotel since I was not in their shoes, I only have words of praise for the place and its helpful staff.

My family and I stayed at the All'Angelo Hotel for four nights. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had great service from the staff very helpful with directions and even helped us sterilize our infants bottles daily. The buffett breakfast was delicious. All'Angelo is located approx 2 mins from St Marco Square. Would deffinatly reccomend anyone to go there.

My wife and I stayed here for three nights. The hotel is centrally located and near to lots of nice restaurants as well as some of the main places to see and visit in Venice. The room was large and comfortable (no view, but that didn't matter). Breakfast good and plentiful. Staff very helpful. We'd have no hesitation about staying there again.

Booked this hotel on line then read the reviews! It's amazing what some people expect from hotels isn't it? If you want a modern hotel with sea views then don't book one in the centre of historic Venice. Simple as that! Our room didn't have a view, but it was large, roomy and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful, good and varied and service was excellent. Couldn't have asked for more. No more than 60 metres from St Mark's Square the location was ideal. This was our first visit to Venice but we fell in love with the city and will certainly come again. And, you know what? I reckon we'll book the same hotel again.

Having booked our accommodation before looking at Tripadvisor(not wise , I hear you say....) it was with some trepidation we arrived at Venice Airport.
However, we were pleasantly surprised how quickly we got to the ferry terminal(5 mins) and immediately boarded the Alilaguna( state operated water bus) and had a very pleasant 70 min sightseeing ( that's what it felt like) to San Marco. All we had to do was turn R at terminal up to San Marco square and at R hand far corner walk up a little alleyway and turned R again to find our hotel. Max 10 min walk for us.
On arrival( it was a very cold eve) the porter and receptionist welcomed us into a warm and cosy reception area and swiftly took us up to room 103. Much to our surprise , the room was spotlessly clean, warm and bed large and comfy, we had no noise from the overlooking street and found an exceptionally large bathroom.
Breakfast exceeded our expectation with reasonable choice of both hot and cold food. Our only disappointment if any, was that they only served bread rolls that were not particulary memorable. so what ? We had a great time and will definitely return to this hotel if in Venice again- just don't use the restaurant called Rossopomodore next door.........
