“Very good hotel for families in Venice .”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 12, 2011

A very good hotel for families - big and clean rooms , very comfortable .
but the showers need a renovation immediatly !!!
The breakfast poor and expensive (15 euros per person) .
The service was nice .
This is the best place in Venice - 10 meters from Piazza S.Marco !
In the check-in they told us that we have a sail trip in a boat in Venice for free what they didn't told us that it was a trip to murano .
in the way back the boat stopped in the other side of the main island of Venice - it's take to us a hour in that very hot day to find our way to the hotel and we were very angry - stay away from that "trip" .
For conclusion (without that "trip") - it is very good hotel for families !

We were travelling through Italy with our 2 children and spent 1 night in Venice. We parked in the Parkhouse and then took a ferry to San marco. The hotel was only a short walk away. The room was big and very italian but all we needed was there. We also had a balcony which was a bonus.
We left our things and headed for the shops. We did a Gondel ride which was expensive but worth it €100,00. Back in the hotel we were happy it had airconditioning. The next day we checked out and were told they had a complementry trip to Murano. We left our bags in the hotel and went in a priviate taxi to a massive glass shop. it was really interesting and we were glad we went.

Room Tip: Dont expect to much, it is Italy.

Hotel is not helpful when making booking changings. They charged the first night, regardless if the booking had to be postponed to an other date.
Seems to me, they want the money and no service.

Eventually we canceled the booking an they got snappy on the phone and hung up.

The hotel was fabulous for a trip with late teen, early 20s children. Three room suite in a fabulous location. Beautiful rooms with unforgettable views of the canal and Venice rooftops. The bathroom was dated but completely functional. We would gladly stay here again.

The hotel accommodation is okay, although probably in need of a refurb. Reception staff were overzealous in pushing a trip to Murano - they did this at least 3 times. My criticism with the hotel hinges on the disappearance of my gold bracelet. Yes, I forget it, and a necklace, when we were leaving. So I was hugely reassured to hear the Hotel had it and had put it in their safe. Provided I organized a courier, they would send it back to me. Well, the courier was duly appointed, and appeared with a sealed envelope containing... the necklace - which has no commercial value. There followed a mutual blame fest between the hotel and the courier. The hotel handed a sealed envelope over to the courier. While they stipulate the bracelet was in it, clearly, nobody would be any the wiser. Only the person who filled the envelope was in a position to know what he put in it - or did not put in it. I can't help feeling that someone knows all too well how to play the system.

Our room was a suite-separate bedroom and living room. Very spacious comfortable room. Location is excellent although no direct boat service even tho on a canal. Front desk staff had poor English and likely received portion of the booking for the water taxi (€120)to airport and porter for our bags to water taxi (additional €30). The breakfast was included but was very crowded room and lacked all personal attention. All food was packaged and coffee was from a sort of vending machine. We stayed in 3 hotels in Italy and this one had the nicest room (although bathroom was very old and needed upgrading) but worst service and food. I can't really comment on the value because it was part of a package. Also no in-room wifi. If you speak Italian and if breakfast isnt important, I would highly recommend this hotel. Otherwise, its best feature is the room (suite) size.

Hotel locates in just behind of St.Marco Palace, although we lost a way. But it's great location. However hotel staff told us that there is a boat trip to Murano island where famous for Venezian glass. My mum and I were interested in about beautiful Venezian glass so we joined in this tour. (It's free) We expected that we could see around Murano island but they only took us one factory and factory staff's atmosphere was force to buy very expensive glass.
