We stayed here on the recommendation of two friends who had stayed her a few years previously.

We were not disappointed. The accommodation was excellent as was the location. The breakfast was lovely both in terms of food and setting. The courtyard was a quiet attractive place to return to after the busy narrow streets of Venice. Without doubt the best city we have visited. Lived up to all the hype and we did not experience any of the negatives ( smelly etc.....)

We found a couple of excellent restaurants but the food was generally expensive.

Great hotel with canal entrance, we got a canal view room (luck) with a small balcony which was great. Shortcut to grand canal about 5 minutes walk, long route to St Marks Square about 15 minutes. Enjoyed chatting with friendly bar staff over a spritz after a day of touristing.

What a fantastic place to stay, had a corner room which was enormous, looking out on the canal, perfection. Stayed four nights, wandered venice, went to a Vivaldi Concert, travelled in gondolas, fantastic. Great location, really helpful staff, absolutely loved it !!

My wife and I stayed here for two nights in August, it was not a very enjoyable stay. The only perk to the hotel is its location, you are close to St.Marks square. Other then that, the rooms are small, the bed was quite possibly the hardest mattress I've ever slept on and the shower was barley big enough to turn around in. All of which I normally can deal with. What I can't deal with is poor treatment from the staff. Our room was located on the 2nd floor underneath a conference type room, on the last night we stayed there, a family or two were in this conference room just playing around, etc, until 1:30am. I finally walked to the front desk to ask them if they could see what was going on up there because it was keeping us awake. The employee I dealt with said he would go see but that "The problem is that not all of the rooms in the hotel are yours". This was very disrespectful statement to make to me, especially considering I had been quite patient with the noise all night.

Stayed for four days here and there are a number of real plus points .... (1) Great location on the Rio dei Greci - just a little away from San Marco but with plenty of restaurants nearby and a short walk to vaporetto stops etc. (2) Really helpful staff. Although we didn't need too much assistance, other folk that were asking for help seemed to be dealt with in a friendly and helpful manner. The bar tender in the atrium bar was a real help with suggestions on places to eat etc.(3) Comfortable room with good bathroom, tea & coffee making (sometimes not found in European hotels).

However, a few odd drawbacks... (1) The bar was only open for a limited period between 5:30p.m. and mid evening, which mean you couldn't get a drink back at the hotel after dinner. (2) Up on the 4th floor where we were there is building in progress with new rooms being installed. It's OK if you don't mind the smell of sawdust. (3) Although the rooms are nice access is a bit "industrial" in places. (4) Our room (#402) had an enormous (?9' x 4') print of Tamara De Lempicka's portrait of Ira Perrot. OK if you like Art Deco but a bit overwhelming here. (5) No real view from our window, just a wall opposite.

None of these points should really discourage you though - we were very happy here for our stay and sorry to leave both Venice and the Liassidi Palace. We would certainly use it again.

Room Tip: #402 if you like big art!

In mid August we stayed at the Liassidi Palace for two nights before joining a cruise from Venice. My family - aged from 3 to 70 occupied 5 rooms - The rooms were large and clean and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was unbeatable. We love Venice and hope to visit the Liassidi again.

Fantastic hotel with all the amenities in the middle of Venice. Bend over backward staff, huge modern rooms and fantastic free breakfast make this a major contender. Just a 5 minute walk from San Marco it is wonderful and happy hours in the garden is great.
