We stayed at the Duodo Palace for 3 nights in November. The welcome was very friendly and we were shown to our room on the 4th floor. The room was nicely decorated - contemporary features - and had everything we needed, including safe.
The concierge recommended us a good local restaurant for dinner.

The next day, we discovered just what a great location the hotel is in - beside La Fenice opera house and no more than 5 minutes walk from San Marco square.

Breakfast was fine - croissants, pastries, cereal, rolls, ham and cheese.

Overall, we couldn't have asked for more from a hotel in Venice. The Duodo Palace was perfect, especially for the reasonable price we paid. Highly recommended.

Second stay at The Duodo Palace and for location and service it is outstanding. Only two things let them down:-
1. Couldn't get the aircon to work so first night left the window open; big mistake as multiple mosie bites testify.
2. The ver-bath shower heads are badly positioned and thus showering is not easy.
Everything else is excellent and Management should be able to address these issues.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quieter and overlook canal.

I stayed two nights and felt comfortable but was annoyed at the lack of stable Wi-Fi and poor Air-Con.

The AC was non-existent on the first night and then ridiculously hot the next night. I had to turn off the AC and leave the window open.

The lack of suitable Wi-Fi was made worse by the lack of phone signal from my carrier.

The room was small, but that is expected.

I admit that I was smitten with this hotel as soon as I stepped off our water taxi into the charming lobby with its sparkling chandelier. I was, however, underwhelmed with our room, until I got settled in, and considered the age of the hotel. There may be more luxurious rooms. I don't know. Our travel agent booked us into a regular room and that's what we got. Clean and serviceable with no bells and whistles and without the charm of the lobby. Still, this off the beaten path little gem, within 10 minutes of San Marco, was a wonderful place to stay. The staff was very kind and helpful. The breakfast and wait staff were so nice and we'd recommend this hotel to anyone. Don't expect a luxurious room. Again, they may exist in the hotel, but we didn't have one. Do expect a tranquil and peaceful place to lay your head at the end of a long day of seeing the magnificent sights of Venice.

Dear Guest,

thank you so much for posting your kind words from your recent stay at Duodo Palace Hotel.
We’re happy to see that we fully met your expectations, our trained staff is always ready to full-fill every single request.
We have some “luxurious room”, of course. As you said your travel agent did book for you a standard room, sometimes we can have the chance to make some free upgrade but it’s rare especially when we are fully booked.
Anyway we want to thank you for spending your holiday in Venice among our guest.

We hope to see you again at Duodo Palace Hotel.

Regards

We stayed here as part of our honeymoon in sep 2012, the staff were very welcoming and took our bags up to our room for us. the hotel is full of character and the rooms are decorated in old italian style, they were spotless clean. From our window we had a view of the rooftops of the city and we could see st marks square. We were on the side of the hotel were the canal is and at peak times in the day you could hear the gondolas going past with the guy singing and playing accordion, It was brilliant, really felt like we were getting the venice experience. The hotel was only a few minutes walk to the shops and st marks square, Once you navigate your way around all the little lane ways. The hotel had free wifi and a computer in the reception you could use free of charge, We were b&b basis and we just ate the continental breakfast with toast croissants tea coffe etc and it was nice and fresh. I would definitely recommend this hotel
