Stayed at this hotel for a couple of days with my husband and 14yr daughter. We were given a family room (room 100) to sleep in,over looking a canel. The room was perfect, spotless clean . The service was brillant , the concierge staff you could not ask for better sorting maps out for us, ordering water taxis from hotel to airportt. Plus a great breakfast each morning. well located in venice Would i stay again at this hotel that would be a big YES ...

We had been to Venice before and vowed to visit again. Took ages looking at hotels and decided on the Duodo Palace, so glad we did as the hotel is brilliant. Centrally positioned between St Marks and Rialto. The staff are amazing nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast is fantastic and the bubbly available a nice surprise. Drinks in the bar are not expensive and a cosy atmosphere enjoyed by all after a busy day. Lots of nice places to eat nearby. We will come back again to Venice but no point in looking at any other hotel for us it will be the Duodo Palace

Me and my girlfriend have recent visited Venice and stayed here from the 16th to the 19th of March. We both agreed the location, staff, rooms and food were brilliant ad were both really happy we booked this hotel.

Straight away one the concierge gave us a map and asked us if we wanted to book a 60 minute boat trip around the city which he would book for us and the trip was 120 euro or 130 with that days wine (didn't feel pressure to book). Defiantly recommend this trip instead of the Gondola which are way over priced & you don't get to see as much of the city.

The Duodo Palace is in a peaceful courtyard but very centrally located and only a 10 minute walk (if you don't get lost in the maze of alleyways) from St. Marks Square and The Rialto Bridge and only one minute from Teatro La Fenice which is a stunningly beautiful restored opera house. The hotel provides a decent breakfast with complimentary Prosecco. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful - always smiling. Their house Chianti is superb. If you can afford the extra fare, a private taxi will deliver you, in style, at the hotel's canalside entrance!!

Room Tip: We were happy that our room had a canal view.

Our first time seeing Venice was on a cosmos tour that didn't stay on the island. The next time we went to Europe we did it ourselves and wanted to stay on the island. We went on wotif and hesitantly booked one of the mystery hotels. It was Duodo Palace. When we arrived (to the front door of the hotel by boat) we were over the moon with this little gem we had landed on. The hotel was fantastic. The location is unbeatable, right in the very heart of the island. Our room on the top floor was immaculate, the staff were friendly. We had the most wonderful time in Venice and could not have asked for a better hotel. Definitely recommend Duodo Palace!

It was our first time in Venice and so the location of the hotel is ideal as it is 5 mins from St Marks' Square and so it was easy to get our bearings when we headed out in the day and night.
The free breakfast is quite basic but as it was free we were all more than happy with it because of its good quality; if you did want to have a hot meal there is also the option to order a dish at a cost,
The size and design of the room are different on each floor; we had a standard room which was not as big as the rest of my family members' rooms but what they had in higher ceilings, armchairs and bedroom space we made up for by having a larger bathroom and a lovely view out of the window,
The hotel itself was not that difficult to find, once you get off the Vaporetto you follow Calle Vallaresso until you reach Frezzaria, this latter street is an L shape and you follow it all the way along until you see a yellow sign-post to the hotel. As the hotel is located off a few windy side streets it was extremely quiet and very relaxing considering it's short distance from the hustle and bustle of St Marks' square.
The rooms were tastefully decorated, immaculately clean and we had a brilliant night's sleep every single night we stayed there.
The hotel were extremely attentive, booking our water taxi back to the airport and suggesting walking routes and things to do in Venice; the staff also spoke English, Italian and French (these were only the ones I heard but they may speak even more).
The only negatives that we experiences were the heat and the smell. The rooms were extremely hot as I think the air conditioning settings were switched off (it was their winter when we stayed at the hotel) so the room was constantly very hot. One of our party complained more than once about the heating, the first time the heating was switched off/air con turned on but a few hours later the settings were re-set and the room was back to its stifling temperature. We did try opening the window during the night (the only sound we heard was the chiming of the bells but you soon get used to this as it seems to go on all day) but both me and another member of our party were bitten by mosquitoes (I don't know whether they are super mosquitoes in Venice but one of our party had a particularly bad reaction) so leaving the window open was not really an option. The smell from the canal was particularly overwhelming too especially after bouts of rain (it rained everyday, mostly at night or early in the morning); the smell seemed to seep in the rooms from the corridors but the hotel seemed to be aware of this as we had air aromatisers in oour room that were especially powerful and managed to overpower the smell but other members of the group weren't so lucky.
All in all i would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody who is visiting Venice for the first time; the staff were impeccable and played a big part in our enjoyable stay.

Dear Guest,

thanks for your kind review, we do our best to come forth your every need.
I'm sorry you saw our beautiful city under such a shameful weather, once you live here you get used to it, but for the foreigners it may be a bit of a pain in the neck.
Same for the smell, the flooding is relentless lately and there's no way to help it...
Despite this, hope you enjoyed your stay, and we're ready to welcome you again here at Duodo.

Best regards,
Sebastiano Cagnin
