My husband and I stayed here for four nights in August and loved it. It's centrally located 5 minutes from the Rialto bridge, making it easy to get anywhere else you'd want to go, but tucked away in its own quiet courtyard. It was also very quiet, and Valentina and her staff are exceedingly helpful. They answered loads of questions about where to wander, where to eat, what was open when, etc. They were really patient and friendly.

We stayed in a standard double with no view, as that was all that was available. The high ceilings ameliorated the smaller space, the bed was really comfortable, the bathrooms and everything else impeccably clean (I'm very picky and don't say this lightly!), and the the quality of the furnishings was solid -- even the walls are lined in textiles and not paper. We did get a glimpse at some of the other, larger, rooms with views, though, and they look just as they do in pictures online.

The common room, which serves as a breakfast room, has a lovely balcony looking out onto a small canal, where you get gondoliers passing by explaining to people that this is the building where Marco Polo was born. We enjoyed lingering over a plentiful breakfast (including scrambled eggs to order, and the most amazing fresh nectarines -- unusual in Venice for this sort of guesthouse, which usually only serves prepackaged pastries) in the mornings and some afternoon hours when it was simply too hot to be out and about. The common room is well shaded and always cool, and the temperature control in our room was great.

Beware that this is a guesthouse and not a full service hotel -- reception is limited to morning and afternoon hours (excluding 1-3pm), although someone is always available by phone. Wifi is free but wasn't accessible from our room, which did not bother us much as we were on vacation and it was easy enough to pop into the common room when we needed to look something up. They do have printing facilities, which we didn't expect, and Alberto at the front desk also kindly scanned a rather long document for me that I needed to email for work on arrival. I also had a bit of a medical emergency one evening, and the staff were great about identifying a nearby pharmacy open on a Sunday, and leaving us an icepack in our fridge ready to use when we got back at night. That kind of particular attention made such a huge difference.

We were really impressed with how kindly everyone was, and how much care went into having everything clean, in place, and pleasant. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Room Tip: The rooms are all well furnished and pleasant, even the ones with no view whatsoever.

This is a delightful guesthouse with warm and hospitable staff. My family stayed here four nights at the end of July/beginning of August. We enjoyed the lavishly decorated Venetian-style Junior Suite, which has tall windows opening onto a popular gondola route. Excellent location, just five minutes from Rialto Bridge. Spotless, modern bathroom with tub/shower combination. Good air-conditioning and wi-fi connectivity. No mosquitoes. Lovely breakfast room with ample buffet and eggs made to order. Housed in a thoughtfully renovated historic 13c. building, Ca’ Amadi offers comfort and ambiance.

Great little place hidden away in a courtyard just off a busy street in an old historical building (12 century), fully equipped up to a level of a good modern hotel. Remarkably decorated, clean and quiet, righ beside a canal. Great staff, free wi-fi (was not available in the room though), safe in the room, good breakfast. In a walking distance to Rialto and San Marco. Reasonably priced for Venice, especially for what you get. Highly recommended!

Calling Ca' Amadi a B&B doesn't do it justice! The quality of the room and helpfulness of the staff alone make it a true 5-star level accommodation. Very conveniently located only 5-minute walk away from Rialto bridge, it is nicely tucked away from the street noise, enjoying a view over a small canal. We stayed in the junior suite and were seriously impressed. The room was marvellous, and bathroom beautiful and clean. WiFi was free and working perfectly, the air conditioning very effective.

An extremely nice touch - you can have fresh scrambled eggs for breakfast, made especially for you. Just ask the staff.

An unforgettable experience!

Great room, great people, very helpful. They had wifi, great bathroom, lots of space. Had a really great breakfast too. Was quiet, tucked away in a nice area.

Fantastic view of the water, right near the Rialto bridge.

It turns out Marco Polo's family started the place.
