“Very close to the station and lovely room!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2012

Venice is the only one city where I realised how important closeness to the station is. I even don't want to imagine how tourist with heavy luggage are reaching their hotels in the center!!! Staff was very helpful. They kept our luggage after out check-out until 4 p.m. And also returned my watch which I forgot in the room. We had just that room in venice style from the picture!!! The only shortcoming were crowd in the dining room at breakfast. I will definitely stay at the Alle Guglie when next time in Venice and I will recommend it to my friends!

If i ever have to opportunity to go back to Venice, I'll be sure to stay here again. First off the hotel was in a really nice location. It was not too far from the pzl. Roma, and you only have to cross two bridges to get there. The area surrounding the hotel is beautiful, and not as crowded as some of the more popular areas. The hotel itself was very clean and comfortable. Putting a modern facility, in a city as old as venice must be a difficult task but they were able to pull it off. the breakfast in the morning was delicious and gave us the energy to get around the city! The staff was was very attentive and friendly. Overall it was a fantastic experience!

This hotel far exceeded our expectations, especially given the low rate we paid for a weekend stay during the high season. The room was well-sized, quiet, comfortable, and very clean, and it looked like it had been renovated recently. he air-conditioning was flawless and the wifi was free. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was standard continental fare, and the made-to-order cappuccino was excellent. Location was brilliant - easy, enjoyable walk from the train station, fun neighbourhood, away from the tourist hordes. We couldn't have been happier to have stumbled on this gem, and we will definitely stay here again when we next return to Venice!

Just back from this wonderful but very pricey city. I found this hotel through your website and can endorse the comments made in other favourable reviews - excellent location, good breakfast, and very friendly and welcoming staff. In particular I was very glad of the powerful air-conditioning in my bedroom (surprisingly spacious but a tiny bathroom) since it was a week of very hot weather.

this hotel is very close to the st. lucia train station, only at most 10 mins' walk. You can also take the water bus and the hotel is two minutes away from the bus station.
The staff are the most friendly people I've ever met in Italy, super helpful as well.
We booked a superior room with a beautiful vintage blue theme. The room was super clean and comfy, with a big washroom.
I will definitely choose this hotel again next time.

I've been to Venice a few times, and will definitely stay at the Alle Guglie when I'm next there! If you're expecting a five-star luxury generic chain hotel then look elsewhere, but if all you want is a comfortable roof over your head, continental breakfast, a great location and fantastic welcoming staff, then go for the Alle Guglie.

As previous reviews have said it's a short walk from Piazzale Roma (the main 'entry point' to the city, where the buses/taxis from the airport arrive) and railway station, with some great little bars and restaurants nearby, fruit stalls outside the door, a Billa supermarket a ten minute walk away and a couple of waterbus stops nearby too. A little bit touristy, but not overwhelmingly so.

It's maybe 20 minutes walk from Rialto, half an hour from St. Mark's Square, and just around the corner from my favourite part of Venice, the gorgeous Cannaregio sestriere. Probably the most 'off the beaten track' part of Venice - quiet canals with the locals going about their everyday business. Very authentic.

The hotel itself was lovely. One word of warning - as previous reviewers have said there is no lift and our room was on the top floor, so bear this in mind! However this was not a big problem at all. For me the most special thing about this hotel is the staff - they are some of the friendliest people I've ever met in a hotel (big thanks especially to Luigi, always there with a smile!). The room was large, bathroom was brand-new, air-conditioning most welcome. Breakfast was typical continental - cereals, yoghurts, breads, pastries, cakes, pâté and cheese alongside the juices, coffees, teas etc. Not a luxurious spread but absolutely fine to start the day with!

So, yes, I will definitely stay at the Alle Guglie when I'm next in Venice, and definitely recommend it. Fantastic value for money, a great location and lovely, welcoming staff.

A big thanks to Luigi, Ilaria, and all the staff we met - you really helped make our trip special! A presto!

Room Tip: Bear in mind there is no lift so request a room on the lower floor if you don't like stairs!

We booked because of its location near train station .,
Very impressed with room and staff especially Luigi the manager
Could not have been more helpful .
We will stay there again on our next visit to Venice
Breakfast was good and plenty of variety

Room Tip: If you have a lot of luggage first floor would be an advantage as there are no lifts
