“Beautiful gem in a perfect location”

My husband and I stayed in Venice for two nights at the end of a great trip through Italy. I was recommended this hotel by a friend, and cannot wait until we stay there again. I would suggest booking in advance though, because we booked last minute and it was quite expensive. It was definately worth every cent though.

The hotel is located right outside where the water buses come and go from, which is really convenient and is just up the road from the Rialto Bridge.

The hotel was very easy to find, and upon arrival we were greeted by a lovely man who gave us a map and advice about which areas were the best ones to eat in, and which 'overpriced' ones to avoid.

Unfortunately the weather was not that great while we were in Venice, but the hotel provides its guests with umbrellas, which was an absolute bonus, because we didn't take one with us and didn't have to worry about buying one.

Our booking included breakfast, which was fantastic, and was served by a lovely house lady, who always made sure we were happy with our breakfast. On our first morning we were served warm pastries, which tasted fantastic!!!

Would definately recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Venice!!!

Booked the hotel for 2 nights and was utterly pleased. I read the bad reviews about the hotel before I booked but went and booked it anyway. The hotel is just at the 3rd level of Palazzo Bembo (six rooms only) and the first level is an art exhibit and it added more to the exclusive feeling. I understand that while the hotel is in front of the Grand Canal only one of the rooms will have the view of directly. The other windows with the Grand Canal view were reserved for the common area where breakfast is served. This allows the rest of the guests to enjoy the view whenever they wanted.

The breakfast served wasn't bad either. They had a couple of types of cold cuts, several cheeses, and the usual offerings of breads, spreads, yoghurt, etc.

The staff were all very helpful too, I felt that they were really engaged when talking to you and really looked to be of service.

We also hauled a huge amount of luggage having been from Paris, Athens, and Rome already and wanted to save money so we took the Alilaguna waterbus instead of the water taxi. The hotel was perfect because we didn't have to carry the luggage to any flight of stairs (just for a few inside the lobby) as the bus stop was literally 10 feet away from the building door. SO instead of paying 200euros for a water taxi (back and forth) we only spent 54euros for the water bus (almost a cost of a night stay).

Also the area just outside had one of the stores/restaurant that closest the latest so it's convenient if you suddenly want to go out for a bite late at night.

Great location. Water taxi right out the front. Don't underestimate how useful this is because if you have to pull suitcases up and down the dozens of small bridges to get to a hotel off the grande canal it will drain you or cost you heaps if you take a private water taxi.
Matteo and Luca at the desk were fantastic.
We had the room fronting the Grand Canal and to be able to watch 40 plus boats from water taxis, gondolas, cargo boats was mesmerizing.
Breakfast lovely

Room Tip: The best is the front room overlooking the Grand Canal

We couldn't have chosen a better location. Water taxis are right in front of the hotel to go anywhere in Venice. It is directly on the Grand Canal with the Rialto Bridge a few steps away and a quick walk to San Marco. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We loved the charming ambiance and the room was always clean. The delicious, fresh croissants served at breakfast were a treat every day!

We did read the reviews/complaints about the dark entrance, slanted floors and difficulty reaching the hotel and were prepared for those inconveniences. Once there we realized those complaints were not a nuisance in the least bit if you had some common sense. We learned that there are light switches at the base of the stairs so we never had to climb the stairs in the dark late at night. The slanted floors added to the old world charm of a 15th century building. We made the mistake of taking the Alilaguna from the airport to San Marco instead of Rialto where we could have been dropped off right at the front of the hotel with our luggage and not had to navigate Venice with luggage in tow.

we stayed there for three days with my family of five. The location is brilliant which the water bus station ( for both the grand canals and Marco polo airport) is just in front of the building. And it is extreme convenient to get around, whether to grab a night snack or shopping.
For the hotel itself,The staff is so helpful and friendly. Although the condition of the room may not be the best you have seen ( as the floor of one of the double rooms we booked was crooked), the rooms are so clean and smell so good. But so far, we are very pleased with the hotel, and not to mention they offer a free private taxi to the murano island and champagne with the booking from the hotel websites.

We (me & my husband) stayed in Palazzo Bembo for four nights. The place had been highly recommended by a close friend - and he was right. With a brilliant location - it is a place with so much atmosphere, stylish decoration, and the friendliest staff. From our room we had a view towards Sct. Mark's square and we could hear the bells and the singing from the canal - an extra plus in the otherwise quiet and calm hotel. What stories the old wodden beams must be able to tell! Perfetto...

Stayed here last week for 3 nights with my daughter. Was my second visit - last year went with my husband as it was a 'big birthday', & had a junior suite with Grand canal view.

It is a lovely little place - the staff are excellent & very helpful, from booking to departure, rooms are spotless, air conditioned, & breakfasts more than adequate. Its not really a hotel - more of an upmarket B & B, but could not recommend more highly for what we wanted on either visit.

This year we had a side canal view, which was fine & half the price of the junior suite After a long day exploring it was easy to get back to, & such a relief to relax in a genuine Venetian Palazzo, sloping floors & all, but with plenty of hot water, air conditioning which did not fail, & a well stocked mini bar!

Not sure I'd pay again for a Grand canal view, as the windows are quite high & obviously no balconies - but it WAS lovely if we were awake very early in the morning to watch all the various traffic build up & get a feel for the real Venice.

We will definitely be back, being now addicted to Venice & all its little canals & islands away from the crowds (surprisingly very quick & easy to reach), and next time, on the advice of Matteo, will look forward to seeing it in the winter!
