“Worth the stroll”
Reviewed March 2, 2013

Back off the grand canal. Not lots of places on very back streets open on Sunday. Less expensive prices for items at kiosks as indicated by other in previous posts. When to Jewish Ghetto, did not go into museum, will do so next visit.

“Interesting and less visited part”
Reviewed March 2, 2013

Cannaregio is less touristy than other parts of Venice. It is possible to get an idea of the everyday lives of Venetians in a way you cannot easily do in some of the other areas.
Cannaregio includes the Ghetto, which was the centre of the Jewish population for hundreds of years and where you can visit synagogues, Jewish restaurants and a Museum.
Cannaregio also extends down to the Grand Canal and the beautiful Ca' d'Oro.

Nice quite area at Venice. A bit far away from the central sights in Venice, but it's good to be away the crowded places. Felt like italian among others.

“Favorite Area”
Reviewed February 16, 2013

The Cannaregio was my favorite place to walk around in Venice. We stayed in Venice for 10 days and walked around a lot of the sestieres. The Cannaregio has good shopping and restaurants and the best street vendors!

“Great place to stay”
Reviewed February 5, 2013 via mobile

We visited Venice in late January, early February and stayed in this region. The prices for everything is cheaper than the San Marco area, and it is much quieter, although on 15 minutes walk to San Marco Square. There is a Billa Supermarket, which has a good range of goods, at reasonable prices, while the fact the train station is nearby is great if you are lugging suitcases over multiple bridges. Really enjoyed our stay and recommend.
