Venice hotel's are pricey, so it's difficult to gauge what you're getting for your money compared to other cities. We took the water taxi there, which was convenient, since the hotel had it's own dock on the Grand Canal. The hotel is convenient with almost equidistant 10-15 minute walk to either Rialto or San Marco and 5 minute walk to Accademia. We stayed in the lowest price level room, which was nicely decorated and sizable for Europe. It had a view overlooking a side canal and was quiet enough. We didn't manage to wake up for breakfast, but the happy hour looked nice. Set price for cicchetti and drinks and could sit out at one of the table in front of the canal. Overall service was good and helpful. The Alilaguna and Vaporetto stop is right out front if you choose to use them.
