“Superb hotel and a fantastic location!”
Reviewed October 13, 2013 via mobile

We had three fantastic days stay here, the hotel is located in the Canareggio area of Venice approx 25 minutes walk from San Marco Square, this in fact is a plus as this location affords a quieter environment there are many great restaurants just a short stroll from the hotel. We stayed in a room with canal view the room was well sized immaculate the bathroom had both a separate shower and and a bath with shower. The bath though may be a problem for those with limited mobility as it is high and the edging is wide. The breakfast is excellent with a very good choice of hot food the pork sausages are just superb as is the bacon . The selection of cold food and cereals is also very good. If you are arriving via vaporetta water boat from the Santa Lucia rail station catch the vaporetta that goes to Tre Archi get off at that stop and you will only have 20 metres to walk to the hotel. For other times when you go into Venice from the hotel if you get off at the Guglie stop which is the stop before Tre Archi it is only a short and easy walk along the path to the hotel(recommend that you go to Tre Archi when you arrive with luggage much easier. The other tip is consider purchasing a vaporetta pass you can get 24 hour through to several day passes this is much cheaper than buying individual tickets, all you will need to do is validate you pass each time you get on the vaporetta. Water taxis are readily available but much more expensive for example from the rail station to the hotel they can ask 60 euros!
The staff at the front desk are very helpful and supply very good maps of Venice and give good tips for getting around or sightseeing. We really enjoyed our stay here and would book in here agin if we return to Venice.

As everyone has indicated this hotel has it all. Being new, everything looked great and worked. The lobby when you walk in is beautiful and breakfast room had great service -- not to mention the American coffee (a pot of coffee and steaming hot milk in another pot). Lots of breakfast selection including hot food and cereal. No need to go hungry! The location was right on the Cannaregio Canal - close to the rail station and within walking distance to the Rialto Bridge, San Marco Square and basically everywhere. We only took a ferry to Murano and the rest of the time we walked to the Arsenale and the gardens in East Castello. We could not have had a better located hotel as there were several restaurants on our canal and two vaporetto stops - Ti Archi and Guglie that could take you basically anywhere if walking was an issue. Would recommend this and would LOVE to be able to go back again! Beautiful elegant rooms.

Room Tip: All the rooms appeared to be great -- decor different in some rooms.

A wonderful Gem!!! Truly a 5 star quality. We have been to Venice at least 10 x's and feel fortunate to have found this remarkable hotel. It is located in a quiet, very safe, residential area, a delightful 20 minute walk to St. Mark's which was so busy we were relieved to be staying away from the busy high tourist areas. Everything was extremely professional, the staff are friendly, helpful, multi-lingual, very impressive. I would highly recommend staying here for a fabulous rest and a wonderful experience.

Room Tip: Overlooking garden area.

We got the Alialaguna cost 27 euro for a return from Marco Polo airport to the Guglie stop, turn left when you get off and walk about 300 metres to the hotel. We arrived late in the evening on 25th September for 2 nights before joining a cruise ship. Upon check in we were informed that we had a double room, I stated that I had requested a twin room but the request had not got through to the hotel from the company I booked with. The man on reception apologised and said that they did not have any twin rooms available and explained that the double beds are quite often two singles pushed together and if it is possible they will separate them the following morning. If they couldn't be seperated he would change our room.

We got to room 101 which was clean and nicely decorated over looking an alleyway, but was extremely quiet . The bed was enormous (6ft wide) and really comfortable. I suffer with osteoarthritis, so a comfortable bed is really important for me to wake up feeling relaxed and refreshed. The bathroom was a reasonable size with a full size shower cubicle. The shower was really powerful and there was plenty of hot water. The light in the bathroom only stayed one colour. They supplied slippers, body wash, shampoo, soap and body lotion that I noticed but I always take my own toiletries anyway. There is a lack of storage space but as we were only there for a couple of nights it didn't really bother us. The safe in the room is easy to operate. There was a TV but I couldn't tell you what channels you could get as I don't go on holiday to watch TV.

Breakfast was plentiful and a mix of hot and cold buffet, there wasn't a need to have lunch. The little sausages were really nice. There is fresh fruit but I was turned off by the little flies that were on them, some netting over the basket would keep the flies off the food. They bring coffee and hot water for tea to your table and you help yourself to orange juice (cordial), another juice and water. In one part of the dining room opposite where you get the food it is a little cramped but that seems to be the case where ever you eat in Venice and wasn't a major problem. I cannot comment on the bar in the hotel as we did not use it but it did seem to be very quiet.

We went to reception for some information on how to get about and to ask if they had a map and the male receptionist remembered my request about twin beds from the evening before and said that he would check which room we could change to as the bed in our room could not be separated, we had already decided that we wouldn't bother to change for one night. He then explained to us how to get around and gave us a map.

We left the hotel, turned left and walked to the Guglie bridge and turned left. There were shops and market stalls along the street, so we went that way. It wasn't long before we were following signs for Tre Archi bridge. Once we arrived here it was then a case of following the signs to Saint Marks Square (San Marco.) It took us about 2 hours to walk to St Marks ( a very easy stroll) but we went into nearly every shop selling handbags, masks and Murano glass. We walked all the way around in about 6 hours.

Due to the length of the queues for the attractions at St Marks square we decided to walk along the seafront to the bridge of sighs, you turn left coming out of St Marks at the sea front, at the first bridge you come to climb up the steps to the middle and on your left a little way up the canal is the bridge. We carried on along the seafront and then went to one of the very few green areas they have. There is a distinct lack of public toilets and they charge 1.5 euro, they're not overly clean. The next time we needed to go, we went into a cafe said we wanted to buy ice cream (which we did) and would it be possible to use the toilet, this was not a problem, 2.5 euro for the ice cream.

We walked to the bus station to see how far it was to walk with suitcases because we could get the people mover (1 euro) from there to the cruise terminal. Out of the hotel, turn left ,cross the Guglie bridge and just follow the road, to get to the people mover you have to cross another bridge, that is quite high with big steps, difficult to wheel your suitcase up. On the way back we stopped at a restaurant as they were advertising a 3 course meal for 13 euros, we decided to have the meal, and was seated outside and given menus. When he came to take our order we said we would have the set menu, we were told you can only have it if you sat inside and it is really only available at lunch time (no mention of that on the board.) We ended up ordering off the main menu for a lot more money.

If you leave the hotel turn left go to the Guglie bridge and turn left the first cafe on the right hand side (quite small) can't remember the name, it is really long and has Fred in it. The food is really nice, cooked fresh and is reasonably priced: 1/2 roast chicken and fries 12 euros, or lasagne to start, pork in breadcrumbs and fries 13.5 euros. This place is very popular with the locals.

Check out was simple and you have to pay a city tax of 4 euros per person per night but I think the amount might change depending on the time of year you travel. We asked the best way to get to the cruise terminal and was told to get the water bus 5.1 or 5.2 to Piazzale Roma cost 7 euro one way and then the people mover to the cruise terminal cost 1 euro. Be very careful we got on the water bus travelling from the Guglie bridge direction this is not the right one and you end up in Lido, where you will have to get off and pay again unless you have return tickets We actually paid 13 euros and got a different water bus direct to the cruise terminal. We didn't mind too much as we had a lovely trip on the water around Venice and it killed a couple of hours.

I found the staff to be courteous and helpful. The location is in a quiet area, which to me is very important as I'm a light sleeper. Close to the local water bus stops and an easy enjoyable walk to the main attractions.

Would I stay in this hotel again? Definately.
Would I recommend it to friends and family? Definately.

OK, so we did splurge a little in this romantic city and booked the Carnival Palace Hotel. WOW. The place was incredible. The room we had was by far the best one on our entire 3 week, 7 city tour, although Hotel Grand Royal in Sorrento was possibly tied for first place.

This hotel was wonderful. Large suites, great canal view, but so quiet and peaceful. Water Bus stop (Tre Archi) about 50 feet away. Easy to walk into the pedestrian areas between the train station and St Marks, but hardly anyone walks this way so it is quiet unless you want to walk a few hundred yards and join the masses coming over the bridge from the train station.

We absolutely loved this place. The breakfast also was one of our best of the trip, but the best still was Hotel Manfredi in Rome for that honor.

Room Tip: We had a balcony room overlooking the canal, #119. Not sure if we paid a premium for this room but...

This was a wonderful hotel with an exceptional staff who helped with all of our activities while we were there. The breakfast provided was lovely including the cappuccino. The rooms were clean and well sized for the area. It is away from the center of everything and quiet at night. We loved it and would not hesitate to stay again.

Fantastic modern hotel which caters for visitors of Venice with a massive buffet breakfast so that there is no need for lunch. The rooms are very comfortable as they have superb beds and onsuite showers, which invite you to go in just for the changing lights! Amazing corridors very black with blue lights! A feeling of going in a tunnel! but exciting! It is very quiet as the Cannaregio is not in the central part of the busy city. Just fabulous worth the money!

Room Tip: Any room seem to be very good and there is no noise when we stayed there, but it might be noisy in t...
