“A hidden gem in Venice!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 2, 2013

To celebrate our 26th wedding anniversary, we took a 10-day trip to Italy and Venice was our last lag. We stayed in this B&B for 2 nights. This B&B helped conclude our wonderful vacation to have a fond memory of Venice for life!

In short, this place has the following:
1) Convenient location - vaporetto stops, Piazza San Marco and great restaurants are within minutes-walk.
2) Entirely renovated and equipped with modern facility and nicely decorated and very clean (especially important to us).
3) Great attention/assistance of wife-and-husband team: Maria Elisabetta & Rodolfo. They don't have elevator, but Rodolfo was delighted to help carry our luggage upstairs.
4) We stayed in the upstairs suite which comes with 2 bedrooms (even though we only needed one), bathroom, kitchen, AND private terrace on the roof top. From the room's windows, there were lovely canal views. And the roof-top terrace has awesome views of Piazza San Marco bell!

During our last day's stay, it was raining the entire day in Venice. Guess what? It made Venice more romantic!

Choose Residenza de l'Osmarin when you come to Venice to visit! It'd help you love Venice more!!

As with all reviews, you don't always find what you are looking for, but when it comes to this B&B, believe the hype--it's just that good! The accommodations are spacious, updated, and very comfortable. Just three rooms and the owners, Maria and Rodolfo, make you feel like you are home while there. Great breakfast buffet included; free internet; central AC and heat; satellite TV; your own keys for quick/easy access at all hours; within 5-mins walking distance of St Marks and all the key attractions. Super easy to find from the nearby vaporetto stop which is key in Venice. I could go on and on--don't hesitate--this is it. I highly suggest the suite with veranda overlooking the canal. But book quickly--we're going back as soon as we can!

Room Tip: Suite with veranda.

This lovely B&B is close to several key Vaporetti routes which made it easy to get around as I have limited walking ability.
We had the top apartment with roof terrace which was delightful.
Maria and Rodolfo the owners made some great restaurant suggestions.
Would not hesitate to book again.

Great location. Great owners Elisabetta and rodolfo. Gave us all the info we needed to find our way, eat and drink well and find some hidden gems in Venice. 2 mins walk from the vaporetto and 5 from Saint marks sq. we spent 2 nights in the artists room and 1 in the suite. The suite is amazing, space, views and a large terrace. Thank you so much Elisabetta and rodolfo you made our stay just that much better. We will be back!,,

We enjoyed our stay at l'Osmarino, particularly thanks to the attentiveness and helpfulness of Maria Elisabetta and Rodolfo. We opened the window in the morning and could look down onto a small canal and local Venetians going about their business (taking children to school, opening shops, loading up barges). It was wonderful to have a kettle in the room too!
For breakfast it would have been nice to have fresh bread and croissants, knowing how delicious they are, but the view from the breakfast room was wonderful.
Location of the hotel was ideal for us too.

Rodolfo is very knowledgeable about the music scene in Venice. The Vivaldi concert he recommended was superb. A few doors down from the B&B is a workshop where a woodcarver makes forelocks (sp.?) for the gondolas, one of only four such craftsmen in Venice. In the other direction, one of the two most famous mask and costume shops in the city. We stayed 4 nights; it was a lovely, quiet, comfortable stay, and very convenient location. Rodolfo made and received numerous phone calls about our camera, and waited several hours for a courier to arrive with it, which we had left in southern Italy. We can't recommend this B&B and the hosts highly enough!
