“Great location in a great city”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2012

Stayed here 16 Oct 2012 to 22 Oct 2012. Found it easily from the directions I had printed off before travelling. Welcome was warm when we arrived at 11pm. The room wasn't huge but was adequate, and clean.

Breakfast was good, though somewhat expensive at 30 euros per day for us both.

Given the location it was ideal for exploring the city and many sights were very close (Piazza St Marco, museums etc.)

Staff were always courteous and friendly. I would certainly consider staying here again.

We stayed here for 2 nights enroute to other destinations. The rooms are small but well appointed. The location is the best feature with it being just off Piazza San Marco and away from the noise and crowds too. A bottle of sparkling wine in the room was a pleasant surprise. I would consider staying here again for the great location.

Location. Location. Location. My wife and I stayed here for three nights as part of a group tour that began in Venice. Other than its adjacent location to St Marks Square and friendly staff, I cannot find any reason to stay at the hotel. The elevator door closes with a snap as soon as you push the button. Unfortunately, I learned this as my wife was entering the elevator and she got a nasty bruise on her should and arm that painfully lasted for almost a week. The pillows were like bricks. The a/c didn't work well if it actually did work. Never could figure that one out.

Once you find it, the hotel is in a really great location, just off of St. Mark's Square. The hotel's public spaces are very nice and the breakfast is very good. The room, however, was a very, very small. A "triple" room is really just a double with a mattress thrown in the corner for the third bed. Staff was very helpful, however. Fine place to stay if you don't plan to spend much time in your room.

My wife and I stayed in this hotel only this week for 2 nights. I'll start with the positives - the location is superb, 1 mins walk from St Marks Square. Perfect. Unfortunately that's it.

The rooms are very small, and were probably nicely decorated when they were first done but now look tired and very dated, with several stains on the furniture. The bathroom ceiling was mouldy in several places. The shower is dreadful, turning from boiling hot to ice cold and back again regularly. Our room was hot at night, open the window and we got bitten by midges and the smell wasn't great from the adjacent canal (neither the hotel's fault) but close the window and use the air conditioning is just as bad, it's so noisy and gives out as much cold air as an asthmatic mouse. The walls, doors, floors and ceilings are so thin I could hear every word the Chinese couple were saying next door and every time someone on our corridor closed or opened their door our door rattled. The breakfast room was so small but there was so many tables and chairs it made it very difficult to relax. The staff do the bare minimum to be polite and welcoming.

The hotel is described by its owners as 4* and "superior" in its range - I have stayed in much better 3* hotels in the UK and abroad - including in Hotel Eden Florence a few days earlier in the same trip. I appreciate that Italian 4* isn't equal to UK 4* but even still this is no better than 2*. I won't return.

This was our second trip to Venice. Although previous reviews rate this as a budget hotel , the average price per night ranges from 250 to 400 euros. This hotel would rate at a 2 star. Rooms are small, bathrooms are mouldy, staff are pleasant but not friendly. Breakfast is very average with just the basics. We had our 1year old daughter with us....be warned that getting boiling water for baby bottles is an issue. You must request water at least 20mins prior. Their coffee machine was broken so we were sent across to their sister hotel best western san marco. They charged 2euro for the boiled water. We stayed 3nights and only booked this hotel for the location. Quick access to St.Marks square. Do not expect the best from any hotels in Venice..they are always below expectations. We enjoyed the city and just got back to the room to sleep. We will definately make a third trip to Venice and will absolutely not stay in this hotel again.

Nice for budget travelers. Not in any way 4 stars hotel.
Very close to San Marco squere.
Room was very small. Average european breakfast.
The staff can smile from time time, were very unplesent.
Recommended for travelers that want to stay close to the Center, and don't plan to stay in the room, rather then sleeping.
