“Not worth it”
Reviewed August 21, 2012 via mobile

Great location.. And that's about it. The room was very tiny, and the bathroom was kind of gross.
Its website is very deceiving, making it look like a luxurious, 4-star hotel. I'd give it 2.5 stars. In addition, the staff wasn't entirely pleasant either.

This hotel was in a great location. It was a little difficult for us to find, but we knew it was in the vicinity of Saint Mark's Square. So once we were in the square, instead of walking all over with our luggage, we stopped at a gelato store and asked for directions. They knew right away where it was since it was just down the street.
The room was small - but this is not unusual for Europe. I have yet to stay in a hotel in Europe where the rooms are not small. We didn't really care because all we needed the room for was a place to sleep and shower.
I've read reviews where people reported that the staff was unfriendly and rude. This was not the case for us. The staff there was extremely friendly and helpful. Giuliana even accessed our airline's web site and helped us check in for our flight. Every person there was friendly from housekeeping to the front desk.
If there was one drawback to this hotel, it's that the shower curtain had a little bit of mold on the bottom. We didn't complain, we found it tolerable since we were only in the room for 2 nights.

All in all, the staff was above average and the hotel itself was average.

Stayed one night before a Great Seabourn Cruise. I agree the front desk male staffers could use a customer service class, but there were two female staffers that were very nice and helpful. We had two rooms and everything in them was small, but that is common for most of Europe. The rooms were clean, beds were harder then I like, and the BK was as you would expect. This property location is great, but it is about 1/4 mile from were our water taxi dropped us to the hotel. We are mobile travelers, but wife did not enjoy dragging her luggage through St Marks Sq. and over a bridge (I did that for her). We got a porter to get our bags to the water taxi the next day (35EU). Short walking distance to all the major attractions. Venice is such a great city, don't let the small details get in the way of your enjoyment.....

Stayed one night only. This is one night to many. The front desk male staffers are about as rude and ugly as i ever seen. The rooms are unclean and small . This property is overpriced and location may be central it is not as easy to get to a the map shows.

Very good location, easy to get around Venice. Rooms are really well decorated and lovely style so you feel like you are not in a hotel but grand ancient building!
Breakfast fantastic and staff really helpful.

Great hotel, a stones throw from St Marks Square, there are not many so centralised, friendly staff, adequate breakfast choice, reasonable cost for Venice... no where here is cheap - believe me.

Doesn't look so grand from outside but don't be put off, more than adequate inside, 15% discount in adjoining restaurant.

Room Tip: Small is cheap but with come with views onto small adjoining canal, bigger rooms look into central a...

Our experience at this hotel was bad from the get go. The staff was very rude and since we are a younger group (mid twenties) very condescending. Our rooms were very tiny and one had a bathroom that was so musty we had to leave the door open the whole time. Our other room had no AC and it was very hot. The breakfast left a lot to be desired. The croissants were blackened on top and there was little selection. After a late dinner one evening we returned to the hotel to find a rude staff member demanding to see our keys. He wouldn't let us wait in the lobby for our friend and practically chased us up to our rooms. When we were checking out the same staff member said "Oh, you're finally leaving." The manager on staff said nothing to us as we walked out, no thanks for your stay, etc. This hotel was our most expensive hotel by far during our month long visit to Europe. Including our stay in Switzerland which is an expensive place. Don't stay here. It's only redeeming quality is its location which is good but there are so many other hotels that have good locations. Other than this awful hotel our experience in Venice was great! Go get pizza from Marco at the Ristorante Pizza Tratoria which is a few blocks from this hotel. Ciao!
