This church alone rivals many national galleries around the world. A microcosm of great Italian art and architecture. Every inch of wall has a moment of greatness to share. Its cool inside and costs only a few Euros to enter. It is a working church so be respectful. To avoid offending the staff, ladies need to cover up excess bare flesh and gentlemen remove your hat.

Yes, this is a church, and yes it costs 2.50 euro to go in. This should not prevent you from entering though. The money is well-spent on helping preserve the beautiful structure, with its testimonies to Venice's artistic and historic past. There is also the foot of St. Catherine of Siena.

It's one of my favorite church in Venice, I like the feel of it and the nearby Scuola Grande, now the city hospital, is a must see. You have to pay to enter.

Head here after the crowds of St Mark's and you'll be glad you did. Lovely church - a small fee to enter but only to aid restoration work. So cool, quiet and peaceful and packed with beautiful art work. Then stop for a coffee in the square outside.
