“Visit it for the building, not the art”
Reviewed October 31, 2012

We were fortunate to visit Ca d'Oro on the weekend when admission to museums was free. Otherwise, we might have felt it wasn't worth the price. Although there are notable pieces of art, it's the building itself that makes the visit worthwhile. It's beautiful enough when passing by on the canal, but even more beautiful from inside, looking out through the designs on the balconies. From the balconies one has a lovely view of the Grand Canal. Given the wealth of attractions in Venice, this one isn't worth the time unless you have several days in Venice and are now starting in on the 2nd and 3rd tier of attractions.

“Worth a peek”
Reviewed September 27, 2012

This is an eclectic mix of fine building, wonderful mosaics, religious art and amazing views of the grand canal. Well worth the entrance fee (free for EU over 65s). The staff were friendly and extremely helpful, even ensuring we got the best possible photos. By the way, see if you find the painting with the ladies' eyes that follow you across the room!

“Historic Pallazo, full of antiquities, great view of canal”
Reviewed September 16, 2012

This is close to a Vaporreto landing, and easy to get to. With its three floors, it is full of Venetian history, and has some of the best views of the Grand Canal.
There are some jaw dropping pieces of art. Worth a visit.
