There are some hotels that you just enjoy so thoroughly. Arrival at Ca' Pisani is much like any hotel in Venezia - hectic. Tucked in a quiet little pocket just off the Grand Canal this hotel is initially unassuming. In fact on arrival I was a little underwhelmed, squeezing my way through a tiny reception, past people and luggage. In the chaos of my arrival I missed the details of the charming art deco finishes that I would discover over the following days.

The rooms are beautifully done, though Art Deco is not to everyone's taste, it makes a great balance to the classic Venetian exteriors that surround you. This hotel room is a good size for Venezia and the bathroom is large for such a central location.

The staff are excellent with English widely spoken - ask for help and it will always be given. The restaurant staff were particularly accommodating.

Breakfast on the pedestrian way out the front of the hotel, shaded in the morning sunshine, watching the days traffic pass you by is a delight. A great way to start your day. Keep it relaxed and languid and the chaos on the other side of the grand canal will never get you down.

Don't leave it too late to explore the area around the hotel - great for art lovers! The Academia and Peggy Gugenheim are just so close. It is lovely and easy to explore your way on foot to San Marco over the Ponte Academia but for those so inclined the ferry will have you there in 2 minutes.

Don't leave it to late to check out the rooftop terrace, with a nice vista and some lovely sun beds for an afternoon nap (or spritz).

This is excellent value for this part of the world.

The tv in the room is tiny, which shouldn't be an issue for most as Venezia is on your doorstep. The beds are short and wide and ours had a lovely Art Deco footboard. This could be a problem for taller guests. The bed and pillows were very firm.

A great place to experience Venezia!

Room Tip: For the tall, seek a bed without a footboard.

dear Jeremy B,
thank you very much for your long and detailed review. the entire staff and I are very glad about your comments and for having shared with other travellers your positive experience.
our beds are Art Deco, and they are queen size (with some twin accommodations, besides - of course - triple rooms, too), but for tall people we can adapt the bed (better to know in advance), so they will sleep comfortably after visiting Venice...
hoping to see you again here, I take the chance to wish you all the best,

Booked this hotel after reading other reviews and was so pleased to stay. Great location away from the crowds but yet very convenient. Great staff, nice rooms, quiet rooms, restful sleep, included breakfast. After seeing the crowds near Rialto and San Marco, really appreciated this experience.

ca pisani hotel is a very nice hotel 2 minute walk from the academia bridge. The hotel is beautiful both outside and in.My room was very comfortable with small fridge safe and comfortable bed.The hotel also has a nice terrace on the roof with 4 sunbeds.best time to go is early morning and just before sundown.breakfast was very good with a good selection of hot and cold foods.best place for gelato is grom in campo san barnaba about 6or 7 minute walk.campo santa marhgarita is a great place to hang out after dinner. The only reason for giving only 4 stars is that the hotel is expensive.almost 400 euroes for the least expensive room.It is still a very nice hotel.

dear jeffrey b,
thank you very much for your nice review and we are very happy you had a nice stay. it is also remarkable that you gave very good suggestions on the neighborhood, especially the Grom icecream, one of the best in town!
I would also like to specify that the rate you put in your review - according to our records - was of approximately 315,00 euros per night and it was just when the' Biennale Architettura' opened, so very high season...maybe you meant dollars, instead of euros?
we are all looking forward welcoming you again and whatever you need, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me.
all the best,

Great value for the location and the vincinity to the city center. The overall service and price was good. Quick access to the boat shuttles. The breakfast was very good but make no mistake it is not as great as they would like it to seem.

The only thing to watch out for is the address as it might be confusing. Look it up together with directions prior to traveling.

Room Tip: Pick the Superior or above.

dear CBO76,
thank you very much for your review and the time you dedicated to write about your recent stay. I would like to add that it is not very clear to me your thought about breakfast ('make no mistake it is not as great as they would like it to seem'): it would had been very important for us to know what we should improve.
same thing regarding the address: I think it does not help the readers. in any case I think the easiest explanation is that we are located more or less in between the Accademia and the Zattere, on the main street connecting these two areas. for any doubt, future guests can check our website.
thank you again for the review, and we really hope to see you again here.
all the best,

We recently spent five nights at this lovely, boutique hotel. First, I'll hit the highlights:

Great location away from the crowds at St Marks and the Doge's Palace, BUT centrally located one block from the Academia Bridge and 100 yards from the Zattere waterfront. The water shuttle from the airport drops you at the Zattere stop and it takes less than three minutes to walk to the hotel. It is roughly a ten minutes walk to the Peggy Guggenheim Museum.

A boutique hotel, with very friendly and knowledgeable staff is how we would describe this wonderful place. We were warmly greeted and escorted to a deluxe room on the top floor of the hotel. The room itself was very comfortable with lots of light and closet space. The bathroom was spacious with a large, glass, stand-up shower with three jet nozzles. Freshly pressed linen sheets were used on the bed. We had turn-down service every night with fresh towels, drawn shades and sweet treats on the pillows. The room was sound-proof and we never heard any noise from inside the hotel. The air conditioning worked perfectly.

On our first evening there, the management sent an enormous fresh fruit platter up to the room with their compliments. Freshly cut cantaloupe, pineapple, grapes, plums, and apricots.

The breakfast at the hotel (which was included in our rate) was truly amazing: a generous buffet with fresh fruit (including a juicer for fresh squeezed orange or grapefruit juice) followed by an assortment of cold cuts, cheeses, breads, and home-baked cakes and pastries. There were also hot real scrambled eggs and bacon. Just help yourself. There was even fresh watermelon juice which I hadn't seen anywhere in years! A server appeared at table immediately to take orders for coffee, tea or individually made Espresso drinks. The service was extraordinary. If the weather was nice, you could eat your breakfast outside on tables under umbrellas.

There was also a very nice roof deck with chaise lounges and potted plants which we used to relax and enjoy a glass of wine before going out to dinner each evening. We had the deck entirely to ourselves for the entire stay! The view of the red-tiled roofs was amazing making for an oasis in a very busy city.

Finally, we were invited to the hotel owner/manager reception along with 8-10 other couples on Friday evening for drinks and horderves. The hotel is family owned and the general manager was a charming hostess who went from table to table to speak with her guests and enquire about their visits to Venice with genuine interest and concern.

If you are looking for a very comfortable, boutique hotel somewhat off the beaten path but still centrally located to major sites and transportation stops, this is the perfect choice. We do a lot of domestic and international travel and this was one of the nicest places we've stayed over the past 25 years. Book with confidence and enjoy your stay at this little oasis in Venice.

This hotel was wonderful, and made our first trip to Venice so amazing! I had been reading many, many trip advisor reviews prior to booking a hotel, as we weren't sure where we should stay in Venice, and how much we should pay. But I can highly recommend staying in the Dursoduro area, south of the Accademia Bridge. It is really peaceful in the evenings, away from the major touristy areas, but still only a 10 minute walk to St Mark's square or the Rialto Bridge. There are two vaperetto stops within 100m (Accademia and Zattere) meaning you can easily get to this hotel from both the airport and the train station. There are lots of restaurants nearby for a great dinner/lunch. Buffet breakfast at the hotel was good, the fresh orange juice was delicious! Room was large, with walk in wardrobe as well as large bathroom. While the hotel may be a little pricey, it's worth every cent and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!
