We stayed June 20. 2014-June 23. This is a quaint hotel with a view from our room that is everything I ever imagined Venice would be.

Stefano was exceptionally friendly and his directions brought us straight to the gate.

We stayed in room 3 and I sat in the window for hours soaking in the view. It is not fancy but we love the charm and allure of a typical Venetian building. Yes there are three flights of stairs that include a total of 40 steps.

The breakfast is simple and a nice way to start the day. There are hundreds of restaurants in walking distance. We ended up buying a 36 hour vaporetto pass (25 Euro@) so we could explore the city after walking for miles.

Great view of Grand Canal and Rialto Bridge. Breakfast delivered in the morning, they even brought hot chocolate for my son. The owner and his son were very helpful and friendly. Location was close to gondola rides, Rialto Bridge, and short walk to San Marco.

We got off of the water taxi and followed the directions that were provided and had no problem finding the hotel. Note that there are A LOT of stairs to climb up to the level of the hotel rooms. They were very helpful by bringing up our luggage. But if you have any issues with climbing stairs this is not the place for you. But the climb is well worth it! The staff/owners were lovely. We received a light breakfast every morning of coffee (of your choice) and the BEST croissant that I have ever had.
The room was very spacious. There were only 2 of us, but I had booked a "triple" room for a bit of elbow room. (Americans like elbow room!) The bed was comfortable. The shower had plenty of hot water, but it was the smallest bathtub I had ever seen!!!
The location is perfect. Walk out the door and you are right on a plaza. We look forward to going back to Venice and we will stay here again! (I dream of the fresh, hot croissant)!!

Room Tip: We felt like the room we had on a lesser canal (#5) was perfect and we saved some money. We were not in the room enough to warrant the extra cost for a room on the Grand Canal.

We booked our room, the Junior Suite, a year ago based on a recommendation from tripadvisor. NO REGRETS! We have spent time in Venice before but we've never enjoyed Venice as much as we just did thanks to the great room, it's wonderful views, and the management that does treat you like a long lost friend or close relative that finally came to visit. The location is perfect, you are right in the middle of Venice on the Canal just west of the Rialto Bridge (make sure you look at our pictures posted). The hotel is clean, peaceful, well lit and electronically secured; the room is large with a full bathroom, clean and comfortable; the room enjoys a wonderful view from 3 windows over the Canal; and the staff is perfect, respectful, friendly, helpful, courteous and will treat you better than you can imagine. You hear people talking about 'hidden jewels', THIS IS IT. We enjoyed our breakfast delivered each morning while watching the city wake up before our very eyes. Canal traffic can be very entertaining. We found that we tire as age progresses. Many of our evenings were spent sitting in our chairs looking out over the Canal. We were able to relax, recuperate, and enjoy the Venice way of life (families in their personal boats going to and fro, tourists on the Vaporattos moving from place to place, and the romance and excitement of gondolas right below our room's windows). Located right beside Campo SS. Apostoli on the Strada Nova and across from the Rialto Mercantile you will feel the heart of Venice beat as you rest in your chair. We got there by Cruise Ship after a week and though treated like Royalty on the Oceania Ship Insignia we immediately fell in love with our Junior Suite. It was perfect, in every way. THIS IS THE WAY TO ENJOY VENICE. We had a wonderful 2 week stay and would go back in a minute if we were to win the lottery. And, YES, we would go back to Locanda Leon Bianco if we won the lottery!!

Room Tip: Pick the Junior Suite. There is nothing better in Venice!

Have you ever been to Olive Garden? Their motto is, "When you're here, you're family." Now, I don't know of the Olive Garden actually lives up to that motto, but you know who does? Locando Leon Bianco.

This place is truly lovely. Now, there is no pomp to this place. It's a little bit like walking into your Italian aunt and Uncle's house who decorated their home with the finest of goods in 1961. For me, that's as real as it gets and as honey as a hotel can be.

The owner and his family are truly sweet people who want you to have a great stay. Most other folks we encountered in Venice seemed bitter about and disinterested in tourists, and rightfully so, I suppose, but not here. You're family here.

The wifi worked just fine. The breakfast was carb heaven, but again, fine. The cafe was the beat we had in all of Venice, thankfully! The room was very clean and spacious. We even got some fate from a very close-by market to have a quiet, inexpensive lunch in the room with a nice bathroom nearby (hard to come by in Venice).

Speaking of close, this is truly a perfect location. You are very close to some major landmarks and water bus stops, which makes it very easy to find your way back home. We were very grateful for that! Super easy to go to and from places with this prime location.

People who said it was in a scary alley are fooling you. All of Venice looks like a scary alley to a novice, but every place we went (including this hotel), we felt perfectly safe.

You'll love it. It's a very authentic experience, and we couldn't be happier with our stay!

Also, we had NO problems with noise level. Our room faced the courtyard and also had a window air unit, so it was extremely comfortable for sleeping soundly.

Enjoy!
