Located near the Rialto Bridge, the Hotel sits near the Grand Canal and evokes an old-world quaintness. It is not a high-tech, modernist hotel. The rooms provide the needed comfortable and are well-maintained. The staff, welcoming and helpful, provided assistance and recommendations. Although we had no problems with our room, some other folks did experience difficulties. We were impressed by the breakfast buffet with plenty to eat, including fruits. The location was prime for us, and we were not disappointed. Across from the hotel, there was a vaporetto stop, and it was an easy walk to other areas of the city. The nearness to the Rialto was a definite plus too. And the area behind the hotel contained numerous was eateries and cafés. You must wander and explore. I would definitely return to the Marconi enjoy this impressive city.

As everyone knows, Venice is not cheap. We had reservations at a different hotel...not naming names, it was a dive. So we skipped out and went in search of another place. I had originally booked at the Marconi and cancelled because I thought it looked to touristy being right on the main canal. Well, that is right where we ended up, in our quest for a decent place. What a savior. They had a room and were very helpful. It was right next to the Rialto bridge, which made it easy to find and convenient to use the water buses. When we got to our room it was great. Our own small but well equipped bathroom. It had radiators that warmed our towels. Not a view of the canal but the fresh air and view into the alley was quaint. We slept well as our room was nice and quiet. For the price it was a great deal and breakfast was a fine buffet with lots of choices.

I have been here travelling with friends, and we booked a 4 beds room.
Everything was fine, we didn't pay very much, considering it's in front of Rialto Bridge, what a pity we didn't get the Canal Grande view from the room.
Room was not small as we expected, with air conditioning (we did not use since it was november) a small television with satellite channels included.
Staff was very kind and kept our luggage in the hotel for free the last day. Moreover they give us free entrance ticket for the Casino.
The only drawback was the mattress...too soft...

In August we (my wife and I) bought one night in Venice through Groupalia with the "roulette" formula, which in our case meant: you pay and you'll be able to stay at Marconi, Cà Alvise, Athenaeum or San Moisè. We reserved in mid August for one night in November and were assigned the Hotel Marconi. I received an official email from Hotel Marconi with a confirmation code: just to say that this was an official reservation. More, in the confirmation email was written "attention: prepaid reservation, not refundable. No cancellation or modification will be possible". Later I gave a look to the reviews here on Tripadvisor and read about that a lot of angry people that were moved to other hotels with various excuses, so I told my wife: "bet we'll be moved somewhere else...". I got it! In fact, we arrived to Hotel Marconi after having walked a lot with our bag (fortunately it was a wonderful sunny day) and the girl at the reception, after having copied our documents and my credit card (as a guarantee for the minibar!!!) told us that there was a problem with the room because the person that was occupying it had an health problem during the night (this is indeed an excellent, disarming excuse) so we were had to go to the Hotel San Moisè, walking for another 15 minutes from Rialto to San Marco. Given some reviews that I have read about the Marconi, probably we were rather lucky because the room at the San Moisè was not bad and breakfast was also good, but folks...DO EXPECT TO BE MOVED EVEN IF YOU RESERVED 3 MONTHS IN ADVANCE. Note that they also tend to fool you because the girl said the we had chosen the roulette formula, so we could expect to be moved.Obviously we put in front of her nose the reservation number below the symbol of the Marconi Hotel.
Later we found that two brothers owe these 4 and other 3 hotels in venice (see "www.hotelsinvenice.com") . This is the explanation why it's very likely that you come to here and they feel free to move to another of these hotels: they simply apply the roulette rule in all cases....good luck, but Venice does not deserve these people.

Stayed in October 2011 for 3 nights and not forgetting that this is a 3 Star hotel we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were given a canal side room with private balcony overlooking the Grand Canal and Rialto Bridge. Whilst the room was relatively small (as we expected) the bed was very comfortable and the room had a safe (free), mini bar and hair dryer. The bathroom although narrow was modern and clean. Breakfast in a basement room was more than adequate. But by far the best feature of this hotel was its location. St. Marks square was an easy walk through very pleasant surroundings. Canal side restaurants are located just outside The hotel and whilst busy, were not noisy even in our room which looked over them.

I would definitely have no hesitation in recommending this Hotel to others and staying there again.

Stayed for two days in October with our two boys and also got a room at the back but there was enough space and the room felt like it hadn't changed for 200 years, which was so right for this city. The staff were mostly friendly and breakfast was just fine. All in all a great start to our roadtrip.

This Hotel have a lot of problems with "broken pipes" it would appear.
We too arrived at this very conveniently located hotel near the Rialto Bridge only to be told of the unfortunate circumstances of the pipes and that we had been "upgraded" to a nearby Hotel. Funny that , as some of the comments I had read before going was that this happened to other travelers. Seems a convenient way of filling other related hotels maybe.
Anyway , it meant nothing to us as long as the alternative was in the centre of Venice and the comparable quality , which it was,

Room Tip: If you specifically want to stay at this hotel , telephone them before you travel otherwise dont be...
