“Lovely little hotel”

Stayed there for 2 nights on leisure trip. I found the receptionists were helpful especially with giving me sightseeing tips, a map & directions; also, fixing my internet connection problem. Breakfast is typically served Continental, so if you want something heavier, you may have to go to a larger restaurant. Room size is adequate with a double bed, big size wooden wardrobe, in-room safety deposit box was an added feature. Room is tidied & serviced everyday, which is a nice touch even though I only stayed 2 nights. Bathroom is neat & clean but shower enclosure is good size for one. Very conveniently centrally located - short walking distance to St. Mark's Square & a stones throw to Sant Angelo vaporeto station.

Room Tip: Ask for the room facing the canal

On a recent trip to Venice, my husband became unwell. We got off the vaporetta at San Angelo to find toilet facilities. In utter desperation we entered the reception (with our 4 year daughter)at this hotel and asked for help. We were shouted at by the receptionist to 'find another hotel'. We offered to pay him to use the facilities. He did not relent. I have seldom seen such callousness. His unchristian and ignorant behaviour soured our experience of Venice and Italy and compounded an already distressing situation. I fear for anyone that wishes to stay in this hotel. He should be thoroughly ashamed of himself.

The location of this property is excellent - right by the S. Angelo stop on the Vaporetto #1 line, and only moments away from a plaza filled with restaurants, shops, street vendors, etc.

It's also by several other hotels, and I would encourage others to pick another place. My wife and I, tragically lost in Venice (surprise), stepped into this hotel and tried to ask for directions. Before we could even name the place we were looking for, the guy at the desk said (in pretty great English) "I don't know anything" and basically yelled us out of the lobby.

The sign on the door says three stars... the service fell far short of that mark.

Hotel de l'Alboro is a nice hotel in a very good location. The Valporetto station is 1 minutes away, which is very convenient if you arrive with luggage. The walk to San Marco takes about 10 minutes. The rooms are comfortable, although not luxurious, and the innkeepers are very polite and helpful. Prices for Venice are reasonable. I can recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: try to get a room at the front of the hotel

We were guests for 5 nights and would like to prolong our stay, but our the schedule did not fit...
The staff was more than friendly, the view more than attractive, the location more than ideal, what else could we ask for our vacation???we got explanations,we saw almost every historical or artistic interesting spot,I warmly recommand it as a place to explore the maximum of Venice, with
the minimum of touristic embarrassment...

Room Tip: the view on the canal is recommended

Location is great, but the rooms are far small and outdated. Comfort is below standard. Everything is small. Everything is old. I don't understand how this hotel can be so expensive. There are so many chepaer and better hotels in this city. Therefore I would not recommend it.

The hotel is in a quiet area with a Bus Boat dock seconds away. Very convenient to Rialto Bridge and St. Mark's Square without all the large crowds. Very quiet and peaceful. The room was good size. The hotel does not seem to have connecting rooms and does not have a elevator. the hotel is three stories tall. The Hotel also offers a light European style breakfast (we did not sample it). the staff are amazing and very helpful, this is the reason for high marks. As to the condition of the hotel, you can definitely see and feel the age. the shower was a tub with no curtain of walls, with a hand held shower head. the A/C was sub-par and with the summer heat you want it working all the time. They would turn it off during the day so you would need to turn it back. In the meantime it is a bit a unbearable. It was great to find a hotel that sleeps four persons in a bed. Finding a hotel that sleeps more than three in a room is a rare find. Overall I was very pleased, mostly because of the staff.
