Book online before you go, its cheaper, the return Alilaguna Water Taxi Arancio (orange) route from Marco Polo airport, you enter the Grand Canal and continue to the last stop S.Maria Del Giglio stunning views all the way, its then a 3 minute walk to this lovely hotel. Staff always very helpful and friendly, even printed our boarding passes for our return, no charge. Stayed 3 nights as part of a BA deal, our room 232 on the second floor was very charming, the bathroom with shower all spotless, clean sheets and towels every day, we even had a fridge perfect for keeping the wine and water cool! We overlooked the small courtyard, scaffolding on the adjacent building did not effect us. From the hotel its a 5-10 minute walk over bridges past the designer shops and you are in St Marks Square. As already mentioned by other guests the breakfasts excellent. We will definitely stay here again the location is perfect.

This place was lovely, very quaint with a sort of Victorian theme. Definitely not modern, but lovely old-world Venetian charm- in my opinion much better for the "full experience" in Venice. Very close to St Marks Square and close to the center of activity. Also right on the canal. The room was TINY as well as the bathroom, which literally had a collapsible shower so that it would fit! The tininess in a way added to the charm for us, but if you like space to spread out this is not the place! The free breakfast was wonderful. The staff was helpful.

Room Tip: Ask for a canal view ahead of time- we thought we got one but didn't. It did however look out o...

Conveniently located near St. Mark's Square and a couple of minutes away from the Giglio vaporetto waterbus stop, this charming hotel is perfect. We stayed 2 nights here and our room overlooked the beautiful church. The room was clean, with very vintage decor (patterned wallpaper, Venetian glass lamp, etc). The breakfast is absolutely excellent - endless pastry options, toast, eggs and sausage, selection of cold cuts and ham, and a coffee bar that makes delicious cappucinos. The breakfast was definitely the highlight for me, and it was free with our stay! The bed is a bit too soft for our liking, but that may just be a personal preference. The front desk agents were always very helpful, and they taught us how to take the Alilaguna to the airport for 15 Euros, saving us hours of time. All the staff were great!

One word of caution though, do NOT eat at the restaurant in directly in front of the hotel. The menu is SO overpriced. There are countless other choices just a short walk away.

This hotel has so much Venetian charm! Don't expect the rooms to be modern, stay here because its a beautiful charming old hotel right on the side canal and in walking distance to all of the sites! The breakfast was the best we had at any hotel in Italy. Staff was very helpful and arranged a private water taxi out of the canal entrance of the hotel at 4 AM for us so we could get to the airport! Our room had a view of the canal, so we got to hear the gondoliers singing as they went by. Room was clean and comfortable with a fairly large bathroom.

Room Tip: Room overlooking the canal was very charming and large!

My wife and I stayed here in late March 2014. The hotel is brilliantly situated in Venice near St Marks and near a useful vaporetto stop (Giglio). There is a church straight outside the doors of the hotel with a very fancy façade.
We had a twin room, 235. It also had a small terrace on which sat a table and two chairs. The terrace over looked a small court yard below.
The room was small but had everything we needed.
The bathroom has a large walk in shower, (no bath).
There is a free safe in the wardrobe for you to use.
Breakfast are between 8:00am and 10:00am. There is a selection of cereals, fruit, cakes, cheese, bread rolls, ham, scrambled egg. hot sausage, yoghurt with or without granola and a delicious panacotta.
The coffee is excellent and refills are supplied upon request.
You can have your coffee straight or you can ask the waiter to make you something more elaborate like a cappuccino or latte...etc.
There is also a full selection of teas available include English Breakfast, Earl Grey and a very light blend called 'Prince of Wales'.
There is also a large selection of fruit and herbal teas.
The rooms are cleaned and fully serviced every day.
The staff are wonderful and always deliver prompt service with a smile.
There is now free wifi throughout the hotel.
There is lift for those who need it.
The rooms at the front facing the church are the quietest but those over the court yard are also OK. At the moment though they are refurbishing the building next door and the workmen can be heard all day in the rooms facing the court yard. The work can be quite loud so may be you would want to request a room elsewhere if you intend to relax in the room for long period through the day. Having said that I suspect you are not likely to do this as you may well have come to explore Venice.
The hotel provides an excellent spring board to the whole of Venice.
Thanks mainly to the vaporetto stop which is close by.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the front of the hotel if you want a quite room. Rooms 234 & 235 have a small...

My husband and I stayed for four nights late March 2014, and were not disappointed! The hotel's location is perfect; approximately five minutes' walk from St Mark's Square. The breakfasts were more than adequate - full continental; with scrambled eggs and sausage if required. We upgraded to a Superior Room because of some of the earlier Reviews we had read - the room was adequately furnished and spotlessly clean; with ensuite facilities (including a bidet) and a large, comfy bed; overlooking the beautiful church (and no - no bells during the night). The staff were extremely polite and helpful; in fact it would be difficult to find fault with this gorgeous little hotel in Venice.

Room Tip: Our room was on the front on the first floor; and was really quiet

It's difficult to find a fault with this hotel. All the staff were friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. My single room was fairly typical single size, but beautifully furnished and decorated, and spotlessly clean. Plenty of room to hang clothes, ample drawer space, and a safe in the room. It overlooked the canal, so had views of passing gondolas. I didn't spend much time in the room during the day, but imagine it might have been a little noisy from the passing traffic. At this time of year, no gondolas at night, and the foot traffic on the nearby bridge disappeared quite early, so no disturbance for getting to sleep. Venice gets to work quite early, and of course all the services have to use the canals, so activity from 7am or even before, and the noises are magnified by the narrowness and steep walls.
Less than a minute walk to the vaporetto stop, where the airport water bus also stops. Only about 5 minutes walk to St Marks square, and 10 - 15 to the Rialto Bridge, so well placed for the main sights.
Very good breakfast buffet, with juices, fruit, cereal, yoghurt, meat, cheese, fresh pastries and a cooked option. If you want proper coffee, ask the waiter for espresso! I had to leave as soon as I had eaten on the last day, so went down early to pay the bill beforehand - without even asking, I was invited in to breakfast half an hour early.
I would definitely stay here again.
