We went there in the evening, the place was full, probably got the last table good for five. Had to wait a little while but the food was very good.

We went to La Bella Pollastrella based on the reviews from Tripadvisor and were not disappointed. Great prices, no cover or service charges. Our meals were very enjoyable, one evening we sat outside and another inside. There is a good mix of locals and tourists. Would definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area!

We spent several hours on one of our evenings with our eye out for a nice place to eat that didn't have
a) service & cover charge
b) pushy waiters
c) a really touristy feel
La Bella Pollastrella has a lovely location on the banks of the canal, with some seating outdoors & more available inside & in a courtyard to the rear. It seemed popular with Italians which we took for a positive sign. We waited a couple of minutes for a table on the water's edge. The waiter was friendly & charming, and the food (we opted for calzone) arrived swiftly & was absolutely delicious; the calzone was very generously filled. The portion sizes were almost too generous! The bill was very reasonable (8€ per calzone); it was our most inexpensive & most enjoyable meal of the trip. They do take away if you're in a hurry, & also serve a range of Mexican dishes. The atmosphere is relaxed, unpretentious & friendly.

On our last of two nights in Venice (and Italy), Himself and I decided to call into La Bella Pollastrella for one last pizza. It wasn't (yet) busy, so we had choice of table, inside or out, and were promptly attended to by our waiter.

For drinks we ordered a Leffe blonde (on tap - there were around six different beers on tap, two Leffe varieties [blonde and red], Hoegarden and a couple of others I don't recall) and some water by the bottle as they don't provide free tap water. For food I ordered an 'inferno' pizza and asked for anchovies to be put on one half only (as Himself and I planned to share our pizzas and he doesn't like anchovies) and once through a slight language barrier with regard to the word 'anchovy', this request was taken. Himself ordered a melanzane pizza.

Our drinks arrived in no time and even though the place began to fill up whilst we were there, our pizzas didn't take long to arrive either (and neither did the orders of the tables near us).

Our pizzas were quite nice, not to mention huge! But to call my pizza 'inferno' would be a little misleading despite the salami on top having a nice tang to it. As requested, the anchoives were on one half only and the waiter pointed this out to me as he placed it in front of me, which I thought was nice.

When it came time to pay the bill we were pleased that our entire evening had cost just under €25 - bonus!
