We'd stayed here before and had a pleasant stay so had no hesitation in visiting a couple of years later. We made our mistake by booking an economy room (we thought that's what we'd booked previously) but clearly not. It was a very small room, the tiniest window and a dreadful box of a shower room with curtains separating the shower from the loo and basin. The floor was the drain so when we showered we washed the entire floor and covered it in soapsuds. We had to put down a towel to be able to walk on the floor without slipping.

We asked to be moved the next day and ten out of ten to Enrico for sorting this out for us. The standard room was larger with a tiny bathroom but at least the shower cubicle drained all the water and it wasnt all over the floor.

There was only a manned reception for half the day so it felt as if this hotel was the poorer relation to sister hotel Ca Fortuny just up the street and where we had to store our luggage before departure. The staff were friendly, the location good but the hotel has seen better days.

Stayed for several nights, excellent location, near Saint Angelo canal water bus point (less than 10 minutes walk),and this is also the stopping point for the water bus direct from the airport
Good for getting round ,and seeing all the sites, and visiting the islands.
Hotel staff good and helpfull, breakfast good selection, bedroom small and very clean, but bathroom and shower in need of a modern update.

Room Tip: Room 11 larger.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights last week and the best thing about this hotel is definately the location. The most important thing for us on our trip to Venice was the location, as we did not intend to spend much time in the hotel , so were delighted when we got there and discovered how close it was to St. Marks Square and just a short distance from the water taxi stop. The hotel is located in a quiet street. The room was small but comfortable although a little dark and the bathroom had the smallest shower we had ever seen, it was nearly impossible to use, there wasnt really enough room to turn round. However we were so happy with the location this didnt spoil our stay. Breakfast was ok nothing special but adequate. The reception staff base themselves in their sister hotel just located in the same street, however we didnt need to contact them for anything. We had a fantastic time in Venice and would recommend the hotel due to the great location.

Room Tip: Our room was on 2nd floor, the shower was far too small, check with the hotel to see if all rooms ar...

this was our first stop on an 8 day tour of Italy and we were not dissapointed, we found this hotel quite charming, tucked away down a little side street, in fact when we got off the water taxi we missed it the first time round! the room was small but comfortable and the continental breakfast was very good, apart from the coffee machine which did make some strange noises! the gentleman at the reception desk was extreemley helpful with all our enquires and helpful when my moblie 'phone refused to find any signal at all! but a great little hotel and onl 10 minute wlak to st. Marks Square and surrounding area.

Room Tip: 1st floor if you can when you have trundled roud Venice all day 2 flights are a bit too much!!

We have just returned from staying at the San Giorgio in Venice on our first trip there and have to say we would highly recommend this hotel. Yes it is fairly small but you can't fault the cleanliness of the rooms. It is very traditionally decorated but spotless. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We asked for extra pillows on our first evening and they were outside our door when we came back from dinner. The continental buffet breakfast was fresh and lovely and loads of choice. The breakfast room was a little quiet on the first couple of days and could have done with a little 'background' music but on our last morning they had some music on low and it made a big difference as you couldn't hear people chewing! Our only suggestion for the hotel would be to have a tea/coffee facility outside of breakfast hours, ie at the end of the evening, as there are no facilities in the rooms and you have to bring a drink back with you. Would be nice to have use of the coffee machine later in the day or alternatively have facilities in the rooms. Other than this we couldn't fault this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

In the economy room, there is not a shower stall. It is merely a shower head and drain on the floor between the toilet and sink. Further our room only had one very small window giving it a dungeon like feel despite being on the second floor. Finally this part of town has a stronger damp sewage smell than other parts of Venice. Only positive was central location.

For the price and location, it is one of a catch in Venice and easily accessible from the ferry stop of St. Angelo. The decoration done up with a touch of Venetian Style so if there's anyone who is looking for it with an affordable pricing, look no further. The room is small and clean but come again, very few hotels in Venice are big. Services from the staff is excellent but the furniture are a little run down, I personally got a cupboard with a broken key hole.
The attractions of Venice is also a walk away with St. Mark's Square and Rialto Bridge easily reached by foot.
P.S. Do not purchase the map of Venice from the tourist center, this hotel provides you with one and gives you direction to all the nearby attractions.
