we spent a few days in venice at the beginning of october staying at the fontana this hotel is certainly in a brilliant location a few mins walk from st marks square and the san zaccaria vapretto stop and rialto bridge if you choose to walk as we do and see real venice only 10-15 minutes to walk and easily found.
Hotel very nice and clean, very helpful stuff who speak very good english and nothing was no trouble was a little small but very good value for money and would certainly stay there again.Plenty of eateries very close including one opposite so need to wander far if you didnt need to.
One drawback seemed to be a gathering point for school children to congregate from about 7am and lots of children do make quite a cackle! Venice as everybody knows can be very expensive but there are very nice and reasonable places to eat though drink seems expensive wherever you go.
