We used the hotel as our base for a long weekend in Venice. It fitted the bill perfectly, offering a basic, comfortable room and reasonable continental breakfast.
The reception is staffed 24/7, so coming and going as you please isn't a problem. All the staff were friendly & helpful creating a really pleasant atmosphere. There are also nice touches like lending you an umbrella when it's raining.
The real plus point is the location, it's less than 5 minutes from Piazza San Marco & the water bus stops. This means if your travelling light the Airport / Alilaguna / walk to the hotel option is really easy.
The location means you can easily cover San Marco, San Polo, the Accademia end of Dorsoduro and western end of Castello on foot.(Even if you're fat & unfit like me.) As most water buses stop at San Marco getting further afield is easy too.
Other stuff worth knowing:
There's a lift so don't worry about climbing stairs.
No tea & coffee in the room, if you want it bring supplies & a travel kettle.
Breakfast is the only time food and drink is available in the hotel.
I loved the place and would happily stay there again. If you're comfortable with the basic B&B premise I highly recommend it, if you want more from a hotel you could be disappointed.More
