“Great Location/Dated Bathrooms”
Reviewed May 20, 2012

Venice is expensive. I get it. But to pay nearly $300US for a room with a bathroom that is 5 feet x 5 feet with no shower pan and only a cloth curtain to keep the water from flooding the bathroom area defies comprehension. This is no exaggeration but while sitting on the toilet your legs are already in the shower area. The shower does not drain properly and so after every shower there is slight seepage into the room itself. Very gross. Unfortunately this was the situation in our first floor room at the Do Pozzi. Another negative was the fact that the hotel did not have the A/C on so you had to keep the windows open. On warm days in Venice, there are mosquitoes which can be uncomfortable at night and there was noise from the courtyard below until about 2AM. Why did i even give this hotel 3 stars ? Well, the hotel location is excellent just steps away from the Piazza San Marco and also convenient to the vaporetto stations nearby. The hotel also has a private courtyard which is a very convenient place to eat on the run on your way to and from the tourist sites and just simply as a place to unwind after an active day. Also, a very complete continental breakfast was provided with good indoor and al fresco dining options. It would have been nice if WIFI was included but it wasn't . The hotel uses an external third party service which was very pricey. This hotel is not for everyone. Those who value location above all else might like this place. I would stay here again only if they renovated all the rooms.

Room Tip: If you insist on staying at this hotel, ask for an upper floor room facing the courtyard. These may...

Arrived in Venice - and was pleasantly surprised by the Hotel Do Pozzi. She is not located on the canals - but it made no difference. We were centrally located - within walking distance to EVERYTHING. Hotel personnel most excellent and very helpful. Nice extended continental breakfast. I couldn't have been more pleased!

The Hotel Do Pozzi is in an excellent location 5 mins from Piazza San Marco.
The staff are helpful and friendly.
Being located in a small alleyway the building is small and rooms are quite small.
On a city break I don't expect to spend much time indoors so not a problem.
I believe the price reflected this and would recommend a stay there.

Room Tip: Try and get a room with a bath, a must after a long walking day.

We arrived at the Do Pozzi for a week’s stay, and were shown to a pretty and comfortable room – we unpacked, and settled in nicely. But then there was a telephone call from Reception: they had made a mistake, and allocated us the wrong room. We had to re-pack, move further down to the corridor, and unpack again. The new room was much less pleasant and quite pokey.

There are few lovelier cities than Venice, and we thoroughly enjoyed our week – and there were good things about the hotel (the room was kept beautifully clean, breakfasts were adequate, and the location was perfect).

However, our unfortunate experience at the start of our stay coloured our visit at the Do Pozzi, and we would not choose to stay there again ourselves.

Room Tip: Make sure you see the room and confirm that you will not be moved out.

I stayed in a single room, which was very small but unfortunately all the singles are above a really busy street, so one hears people talking; high heeled shoes and bags rolling along the pavement until about 11pm and then again from around 7am....moreover, unless one closes the door to the rooms carefully they slam and not all guests are very considerate. Some doubles are over the courtyard, and those would be much quieter. The bed was comfortable and the place was spotlessly clean. The hotel would have been great, as its location is fantastic; the staff are very obliging. The breakfasts are amazing: worthy of a much higher grade hotel.

Room Tip: When booking, try to request a room facing the courtyard

Tiny hotel tucked away in a rabbit warren of Venetian streets. Well-priced...just don't expect service. More of a B&B than a proper hotel. Worth pricing and if you don't mind a pretty small room, not a bad place to stay. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room; we were there during carnivale, and the revelers made lots of noise at all hou...

If you are looking for luxery this isnt the place for you. On walking in to the entrance, you think wow this is really nice. Then you get to your room. very plain extremely hot! The walls looked like they could do with a paint you almost felt you were in a cell. The bathroom was a wet room totally impractical, and with the towel rail blarring out heat not a room to stay in. The hairdryer was a tiny nozzle on the wall, I think it would have taken me 3 days to get my hair dry!! The breakfast room was ok, quite small, but the breakfast itself was a good continetal buffet.
The hotel is in a good place for everything but extremely dfficult to find, we ended up paying a local 2 euro to get us there. We had a room over looking the court yard but my mum had one over looking the street and she never got any sleep with the shouting and yelling from people going on all night and way in to the early hours of the morning so if you want a quiet hotel this isnt the one for you!
A lick of paint up to date bedding and a few pictures and new fixtures and fittings would really help this hotel

Room Tip: Ask for a room over looking the court yard you can still here the noise but its not so bad
