I live an hour from Venice and have been there many times for the day, but this was my first overnight stay. I loved it! This view, and the experience of being right on the Grande Canal, is priceless. You will have to pay for the pleasure, but if you get a special offer on the website it is a great value for Venice. We paid 199 (1/2 price) for a deluxe room with a canal view. You will find cheaper, but not with this location and view.

The location is central, a 15 minute walk can get you to San Marco one way or the train station the other. It is right on the main boat line. Easy access to the Accedemia. If you don't know Venice, my favorite place for art is the Scuolo San Rocco.

As for food, Venice is notoriously bad, but that is only if you don't know where to go. Ask the hotel for some little Osteria's around the corner, we've had great food here. Also, if you want to get away from the tourist drag, head for the Jewish Quarter. There are some great little mom and pop places on quiet canals.

If you want the full experience of Venice, this place is a great bet. You are paying for more than just a room staying here. It isn't plush or trendy, but has tons of atmosphere, a place with a vibe...Lord Byron lived nearby when he was writing some of his best work...you can here voices from a forgotten era in a place like this...

Great location, very helpful staff. We did not have a canal-view room, but it was very spacious and comfortable. You can enjoy the canal view from the common area. Good breakfast. The hotel can be a bit diffiucul to find at night - just look up for the right buzzer when you get to the hotel. At night, you have to walk through a very dark area in the building to find the elevator to the hotel, but it is worth it. The common areas are lovely, and the rooms are cozy (and very open - great high-ceilings). The room was relatively simple, but the high ceiling made it feel very spacious. If you go out the hotel and turn left (toward train station) there's a big Billa grocery store after a few minutes. The hotel is close to the Ca c'Oro vaportetto stop. Staff friendly and helpful. I didn't go in other hotels in Venice to compare, but would highly recommend this hotel. Rooms off the canal are generally quiet, although there is some noise during the very early morning as things are delivered or trash is picked up. The noise was not long-lasting.

I knew right when I have read the reviews of Locanda Ai Santi Apostoli on TA that I wouldn’t be disappointed. I was right and our 3 nights stay in this hotel was the highlight of our 3 weeks in Italy. Everything about it was perfect!

-Booking on Internet was easy and the price of the economy room was like music to our ears. Price per night for the room was cheaper than our dinners in Venice.

-Located near the Ca D’Oro vaporetto #1 stop on the Grand Canal, it is really easy to move around (train station, main sights, airport, etc.). When we arrived in Venice, we bought a transport cart at the train station (vaporetto and buses). The card ended up being a good value. There is also a lots of nice trattorias in the areas.

-Arrival was magic. We were welcome by the friendly, helpful, and professional Vittorio who speakes good French and gaves us advices about where to go for a drink or to have a good dinner. He mades us feel like friends or family members and made our stay perfect!!!

-I was a bit apprehensive when we were shown that our room was next to the hotel entrance. Paying for an economy room, it is the sort of thing that can happen. Opening the door, we were surprised by a little hallway and then another door opening into the room. So, no noise at all.

-Room was a good size, warm, well furnished and decorated in venetian style, spotless clean, .... PERFECT!!! We even got WIFI signal in the room since it is close to the hotel router.

-Breakfast was good with cereal, yogurt, pastry, juice, fruits. Italian coffee was fantastic and strong!!!

-The balcony of the hotel is on the Grand Canal, so the view from the lobby is stunning!!! You can see a part of the Rialto Bridge.

Overall, we just have nice thing to say on this hotel and we were in the economy room. The spread this secret too much since I want the room to be still affordable on my next trip to romantic Venice :)

The hotel is beautiful and well located: far enough away from the madness of San Marco and yet walkable to just about any part of Venice. The staff are friendly and very helpful. If staying here and can afford it, you really MUST book either room 8 or 9, as the views over the Grand Canal are breathtaking. And considering the prices that other hotels charge for poorer Grand Canal views, this is a bargain. (I cannot comment on the other, non-canal view rooms as I did not have any chance to check them out.)

The only things a potential guest at this hotel should be aware of:

Despite a statement to the contrary from staff, there ARE mosquitos at the end of October in Venice. Reluctantly taking the staff's word on this, the first night we slept with the windows open and I got numerous bites during the night. Ask for the electronic mosquito repellant that they have available.

The hotel is closer to a vaparetto (water bus) stop then I was aware of - if you like to sleep with windows open, the noise from these buses as they dock may be a bother to you. However, I had ear plugs which I used that allowed me a quiet night's sleep.

The shower is small and hard to navigate - expect to get the floors wet. :)

The breakfast could have been better - coffee, croissants, and hard rolls. That's about it.

Don't let the above small quibbles stop you from considering this wonderful hotel. The first three issues I mention are resolvable and the water bus noise is probably not applicable if you don't have a canal view room.

I would definitely stay at the Santi Apostoli again.

We stayed at a canal view for 4 nights. This hotel was beyond our expectations!
The Canal view room had two sided window and you can view active canal view all day ; Gondola starting point, market(fish market?) , tragett, police/ambulance ships and a lot more.

The location was perfect, not too touristy and quiet at night. Walking distance from train station (if not with heavy bags) and can walk to many interesting spots.
Near to the Vaporett station, nice bar and restaurants at the back street, supermarket nearby and a lot more.
Hotel staff were very friendly and very kind.
negative points.
We suffered from mosquitos during first night and could not sleep. This is because we were excited by the view and opened the windows, that is why. Mosquitos are common elsewhere in Venice in this time of the year. When we mentioned this to the staff, they solved this problem by let us use the moquito repelling device.
We felt very safe for the place, but may be I do not recommend to a girl staying herself if it is off season with less customers as hotel staff is out of the building during night. Anyway..

This is a dream hotel we really enjoyed!!

Tucked away in a private palace, this small B&B is a great find - only a 5 minute walk from the Rialto Bridge with living room views of the busy Grand Canal. Very helpful, friendly front desk. The room was quite simple, the bed a bit hard and the breakfast sufficent -cetainly not plush but good value and a perfect location to launch your sightseeing each morning.

We purchased a bottle of wine at the grocery store down the street and and tucked our legs under down on the waterfront to watch the sunset and the water taxis and buses - in front of our own Ventian palace (at least for two nights) - one of the best seats in the city!!!
