This hotel is in a really central location all the sights are in easy walking or you are very close to the no1 and 2 stops.
If you print the hotel map of you can't go too wrong however you do feel like you are in the wrong alley just trust the map it's worth it when you get there.
Stayed for 4 nights room 26 second floor. Room was very clean and the free air con was a god send.
All reception staff were really helpful, friendly and accommodating .
Breakfast was , bread rolls, ham, cheese, polenta , jams, fruit juices , tea and coffee. Farly typical and enough to keep you going.
As some have said the breakfast room is fairly small however the ladies work endlessly cleaning and relaying the tables.
For the money you cannot beat this hotel and would certainly stay here again

My boyfriend and I spent the weekend in Venice for a quick vacation and wanted to get the most out of our time. Hotel Bartolomeo was perfect. The location was phenomenal, two minutes walk from the vaporetto stop, less than that to the Rialto Bridge. It took us a bit of wandering in back alleys to find it the first time, but what a hidden gem!

We stayed in a room on the 4th floor, so good thing we are both young and in good shape or it would have been a little rough. By the end of it, my thighs were definitely feeling the burn. Lovely room, with a large shower (by Italian standards) including some small toiletries, double bed, and TV (though that was angled kinda weird to watch from the bed). Breakfast, which is included, was reasonable - yogurt, toast, ham, cheese, some pastries, juices, coffee, fruit. We paid 4 euro for 12 hours access to the internet, which was infinitely cheaper than the internet cafes we came upon, though we only used 2 hours of it.

The front desk was very helpful, there were no hidden fees or anything, and the best part...they had air conditioning!!! I'd definitely come back here, it made our stay really easy and pleasant.

Room Tip: If you aren't in great shape, request a room on a lower floor.

This small hotel is located 2 minutes walk from the famous Rialto Bridge. It is difficult to find at first but the map provided helps and finding the hotel just adds to the excitement and romance in the maze of tiny stunning Venetian streets .
Reception are efficient, friendly enough and the rooms are clean , compact and comfortable . There are lots of coat hangers provided which makes a change and the air conditioning is good and free !
Breakfast is basic but absolutely fine and is served in a room which is small and very busy but the 'cosy' atmosphere adds to the experience and brings together a wide mix of global visitors .

This 2 star hotel is excellent in all ways and serves as a fantastic central base to explore this magnificent city .

We were after something quite cheap but not totally crappy and this hotel is in a really good central location. It's also quite a good price as Venice hotels are quite pricey if you want a good location.
The air conditioning was great, as it was really hot.

The negatives- We were next to the breakfast room which was quite noisy if you wanted to sleep in so try and get a room not on the first floor.
The breakfast room was really small so if you went at a busy time you had to wait until someone else left to have a table so try and get there early.

There is an AMAZING wine bar in a courtyard around the corner. There are mainly locals and repeat customers that have found it previously that go there as you really only find it if you are lost. It is amazing and we went there every night- it's called Osteria I Rusteghi.

Room Tip: Not on the first floor (the same floor as the breakfast room).

Venice was our next stop post to Switzerland. We reached Venice in the evening and finding the hotel was a bit hard until we referred the directions provided on the hotel's site. The hotel is just 10 minutes walk from St. Mark's and just 3 minutes from Rialto's bridge where the ferry stops.

The room was big with an extra bed [apart from the double bed] and AC installed. The bathroom was small but neat. Our room was on the third floor and they do not have lifts , so climbing up with all the luggage was tough. However, I did see the hotel guy helping an old couple with the luggage to their room, so you could request for the same if needed :)

The breakfast was standard with some breads, juices, tea and yogurt. They entertained our request for early breakfast on the day of checkout which really helped. They do keep luggage for sometime after you checkout.

Our room had 2 windows looking out to the narrow alley which has the entrance. [I don't think any of the rooms have a canal view]. The tip is , do carry the direction diagram provided on hotel's website, it will be of real help.

Venice is beautiful. It pleasantly amuses you to see the city submerged in water and the ability of people to ornate it in their unique way.

As a previous reviewer mentioned, this is a bit hard to find but mainly because you lose faith in venetian maps really quickly, if you stick with the Hotel's diagram and directions you will find this little gem. Location is perfect right at the Rialto and less than 10 minutes walk to St Mark's. some really great food close by (usual Venetian rules apply - keep out of the tourist areas for best value). we too were on 4th floor and with 4 cases to carry felt like an assault course, but staff happy to help.

Trick for breakfast seems to be get in early, breakfast room is quite small and soon fills up. We had three nights at Bartolomeo and would return and recommend without reservation

Room Tip: No lifts anyway, so just consider the luggage weight versus floor ratio and perhaps aim for floor sl...
