You get what you pay for. I refuse to stay at hostels when I went to Europe so had to stay at 2-3 star hotels. This place for the price was fine, clean, air con worked, breakfast buffet was good and location was great.

The main advantage of the hotel is its location. Located in the heart of Venice, a short distance from the Rialto Bridge and St. Mark's Square, is an excellent base for exploring the city. The staff was very nice. Room and bathroom small, but it's understandable because of the age of the building and it creates a unique atmosphere of accommodation. Breakfast was quite good and varied. Breakfast room with the climate - large windows overlooking one of the canals. No elevator in the hotel.

Warm and friendly welcome, they could not do enough for us, great location for exploring Venice, not far from St Marks Square, shops and restaurants. Very comfortable rooms, very, very, clean nice touch with free shampoo, conditioner and soap and towels were big white a fluffy. The breakfasts were great, loads of choice. The only thing I can think of that was a negative there were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room or anywhere in the hotel after breakfast had been served but all in all a great place to stay, we would go back.

Room Tip: The top west facing rooms 31 & 32 which over looked the canal were great for watching the gondol...

Lovely hotel, friendly staff in a good location. No lift and stairs are not what you want after walking round venice all day. Could do with an information pack in your room, Tip of the day is get a good map off Venice as lots of streets are not marked on the freebie maps you can get

Room Tip: Take trainers and ask for floor 1

Just returned from a 3 night break and stayed at the Centauro Hotel. Really good location tucked down an alley way which we were pleased to have found a detailed map as I'm sure we would not have found it !!
The room was really lovely with unique features. Warm and clean. Slightly disappointed with no hotel info in room and found the TV a waste of time as no channel listings, with Reception not knowing any English news channels to tune into.
Breakfast was between 8 - 10 am - however our water taxi on the last day picked us up at 7.45am - we were not allowed to have our breakfast early even though it was all laid out ready which we felt rather disappointing.

Recently returned from a 5 day break in Venice. Hotel Centauro is in a great central location so you're well placed to get out and explore Venice.

The hotel itself is clean with very friendly staff. The rooms are a decent size and are nicely decorated. Our bathroom suffered slightly from a stale water smell eminating from the drains, but it was clean with modern decor. The plumbing is on the noisy side, our room was on the second floor and every time the room above used their toilet or shower we could hear the waste water streaming down through our bathroom, not ideal in the middle of the night.

The breakfast is adequate and consists of fresh croissants, cereal, bread rolls, ham, cheese, yoghurt etc.

All in all a good little hotel in a great location, wouldn't hesitate to stay there again
