Just returned from a 3 night break and stayed at the Centauro Hotel. Really good location tucked down an alley way which we were pleased to have found a detailed map as I'm sure we would not have found it !!
The room was really lovely with unique features. Warm and clean. Slightly disappointed with no hotel info in room and found the TV a waste of time as no channel listings, with Reception not knowing any English news channels to tune into.
Breakfast was between 8 - 10 am - however our water taxi on the last day picked us up at 7.45am - we were not allowed to have our breakfast early even though it was all laid out ready which we felt rather disappointing.

Recently returned from a 5 day break in Venice. Hotel Centauro is in a great central location so you're well placed to get out and explore Venice.

The hotel itself is clean with very friendly staff. The rooms are a decent size and are nicely decorated. Our bathroom suffered slightly from a stale water smell eminating from the drains, but it was clean with modern decor. The plumbing is on the noisy side, our room was on the second floor and every time the room above used their toilet or shower we could hear the waste water streaming down through our bathroom, not ideal in the middle of the night.

The breakfast is adequate and consists of fresh croissants, cereal, bread rolls, ham, cheese, yoghurt etc.

All in all a good little hotel in a great location, wouldn't hesitate to stay there again

We have just come back from a 4 night stay at this hotel. On the plus side, the location was excellent, it was clean and the decor was lovely.
It was very compact with minimal storage.Shower tiny.Breakfast, basic but adequate.
Our main problem was how cold our room was. On the first night we told reception our room was cold, the radiator was cool and we could not turn it up. we were told the heating did not come on until 7pm. We complained each day that our room was cold. They said they would turn the heat up.This made no difference which we again told them. The reception staff were unhelpful. Another response was that they did not think it was cold. We asked them to come to our bedroom to see. On the fourth night a man came to our room as we had complained once again, he was rude and brusque .Walked out of the room whilst I was speaking to him and then sent someone up with an oil radiator for the room. No apology was given. There was one pillow each which was flat and hard,I asked for extra pillows and was given one!!!

We booked two rooms, and in order to keep costs down, we took one of the rooms in the hotel that does not have an en-suite bathroom. The room was tiny, and the bathroom was about as far from it as it could be without being on a different floor. We were fortunate in that the weather throughout our stay was cool but sunny, and we rarely spend much time in a hotel on holiday; if the weather had been rainy, and we had needed to spend more time in the room, it would have been very cramped indeed.
Nevertheless, by taking this room, we saved a lot of money, and I would regard it as reasonable for what we paid.
The breakfast was distinctly average - the fruit juice was reconstituted and tasted like 'sunny delight', and the coffee, for an Italian establishment, was disappointing.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights during the last week of November 2012. Our room was on the first floor with a terrace overlooking the canal...very nice! The room decor is as shown in the pictures...typically venetian. The breakfast room was just down the corridor from our room and it was great...fresh bread and warm croissants, yoghurts, cereal, ham, cheese, eggs, tea/coffee. The hotel is very clean and our room was done daily. Location of the hotel is great, very central...a few minutes walk from the Rialto bridge and just a few minutes away from the shops. Overall we were very pleased with our stay and definitely recommend this hotel.

If you are looking for accomodation that is centrally located, that provides value for money in pleasant surroundings - look no further. There are no lifts however so if you have heavy luggage or find stairs difficult to negotiate then perhaps this is not for you. Despite this, everything else will add to the experience of this unique city. The staff were delightful. The buffet breakfast in lovely surroundings provided a wonderful start to the day. The hotel is located close to the Rialto bus stop making the transfer to the hotel easy and stress free. Our room was delightful - beautifully furnished and quiet. - you will rest well after a busy day in the city. Many varied dining opportunities are close to hand. Thoroughly recommended .

we spent a weekend at this hotel. we had a room on the 3rd floor.

aesthetically the rooms were very classical and well kept. The double bed was made out of two single beds joined together but it was ok. the pillows are awful and the blankets are not enough to keep one warm during a cold night ! rooms are like shown in pictures.

breakfast was perfect ! croissants, bread, cheese, ham, hard boiled eggs, crackers, nutella, jams and much more ! warm and cold milk, coffee, tea, juices, hot chocolate powder were all served.
wifi was poor on the 3rd floor. 1st hour was free than you have to pay. room services were done daily. they changed towels and made the bed.the receptionist was very friendly.
location was perfect which was a few minutes away from rialto and central. shops are very close by.
i recommend this hotel !

Room Tip: request a room on 1st floor as there is no lift.
