we spent a weekend at this hotel. we had a room on the 3rd floor.

aesthetically the rooms were very classical and well kept. The double bed was made out of two single beds joined together but it was ok. the pillows are awful and the blankets are not enough to keep one warm during a cold night ! rooms are like shown in pictures.

breakfast was perfect ! croissants, bread, cheese, ham, hard boiled eggs, crackers, nutella, jams and much more ! warm and cold milk, coffee, tea, juices, hot chocolate powder were all served.
wifi was poor on the 3rd floor. 1st hour was free than you have to pay. room services were done daily. they changed towels and made the bed.the receptionist was very friendly.
location was perfect which was a few minutes away from rialto and central. shops are very close by.
i recommend this hotel !

Room Tip: request a room on 1st floor as there is no lift.

This was our third stay at this hotel. Once with our 2 children in a family room and twice as a couple. All times we've booked and paid a little extra for a canal view room and that's made our stay in Venice. The canal is on a popular gondolier route and nothing speaks more of Venice for us than lying in bed listening to them serenade as they pass beneath our window. That makes up for the small, but adequate, bathroom and the lack of lift. Note there is limited space for lots of bags in your room, but the room is stylish and let's you know you're in Venice (Murano glass chandelier and all). Central to anything in Venice - we radiated out in a different direction each day. And for a price (eg 90 euros to the cruise terminal) a taxi boat will pick you up in Campo Manin just down the lane. Helpful front desk. Avoid busy times at breakfast, as can get squeezy.

We chose this hotel after an endless search through trip advisor reviews and other websites to find a hotel that suited our budget and was decent enough to stay in. I can say that Hotel Centauro definitely met our criteria. The hotel was located very close to Rialto Bridge and a short walk to St. Mark's Square. The room was a bit small for North American standards but that's just the reality of European hotels.

Additional Notes:
- There is not elevator and so you will need to walk up the stairs with your luggage.
- We were there when it was raining and so there were quite a few mosquitoes out at night. Keep your hotel room window closed to prevent being bitten overnight.
- The wifi works really well. You need to simply get the password for the hotel concierge. The first hour is free and then you have to pay for any additional time.

This hotel is convenient to attractions but difficult to find. The room is nice and big and also very clean. Bad thing is it has no elevator and not too close to water bus stop. Also, wifi is not working. Breakfast is good. It is also close to good restaurant. I give it a 4 stars. Need improvement with wifi. Yo yo

We enjoyed our time at the Centauro Hotel. St Marks Square, the Rialto Bridge and the Accademia were all just about 10 minutes walk away. There are no lifts in this older style hotel, but the stff offered to help us carry bags upstairs.

Buffet breakfast was good with many, many choices. Espresso coffee was not good though. Breakfast room had a balcony that looked over a small canal.

The room was traditional Venice decoration with a very high ceiling. Bed was comfortable. Rooms were clean, as was the whole of the hotel.

Centauro Hotel is a very traditional hotel and good location. Everything on the island is in walking distance and our room on the top floor had a small balcony. They have a cold buffet breakfast and there is no lift in the hotel. The stairs were uneven and tiny so it was a difficult climb especially with all our bags - the hotel staff do not help bring your bags upstairs. My boyfriend and I were on the top level which was fine because we were young travellers, however in the next room were young parents with a small child. So I think they should have been on a lower level the mother looked exhausted carrying the baby up all the stairs.

We had a lovely three days at this hotel. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good, cold buffet but adequate and the dining room was lovely with the terrace overlooking the canal. The hotel was exceptionally clean. Very central location. Our only complaint would be our room was very small and we would have liked it to have been a little larger. Saying that we were not in it for long so it was not a problem but if I we return to Venice (which I am sure we will)I would want a canal view and a slightly larger room. Saying that I would go back to Centauro and perhaps pay for a larger room. No complaints and would recommend this lovely little gem in Venice. I would have felt a little happier if our left luggage had been in a locked room rather than just left by the stairs.

Room Tip: Pay to upgrade to a canal room, after all how often do you go to Venice.
