Hotel Flora is a lovely B&B clean comfy beds and pretty gardens. Not inexpensive so I would think that when I arrived with my mom and daughter in the rain they would be a little more gracious
knowing we just walked dragging our luggage through flooded streets. I also found it very irritating that I was "sent back to my room" when I attempted to sit in the garden with a glass of juice,I bought from a store, to look at a map with my mom and the older bar tender ran out after me holding a sign that said NO PICNIC.....really a cup of juce? I had to drink it in my room and could not enjoy the lovely garden.

On the other hand, our waiter for breakfast, Stephano, who has been there for decades was wonderful..a true charming gentleman and made the stay wonderful. He made up for the strained smiles on the other faces. His colleage, a young bartender, was also fabulous.
I feel that when you check out and pay the bill, in the little room behind the front desk, you should at least be asked if you enjoyed your stay?!

Dear Guest,
I'm very sad reading your review because we all try to be 100% helpful with all our clients. The problem is that there is not a large number of sits in the garden and, on the contrary, a lot of requests for staying there enjoying the service of the barman expecially in the late afternoon. This is the reason why we were obliged to put a rule to avoid complaints, in the respect of those guests who want to enjoy the service. But please accept our apologies if you felt uncomfortable in this metter. With reference to the check out , believe me that is our use to ask about any problems during the stay and I am sorry if we didn't make it with you . We would have preferred to be personally informed on spot. This would have made it easier to explain our position, because now we are unable to compensate your dissatisfaction. We remain at your complete disposal. Yours sincerely,
Gioele Romanelli

Venice is a floating city, but it is also a city which sucks money out of your wallet at an alarming rate. So considering how expensive everything is this hotel is great value. The staff were very helpful and the garden is very quiet considering how central you are. I don't want to say a bad word about the hotel, because we had a brilliant time staying here, but the room we had was small and the bathroom is tiny. For a start it doesn't have a bath only a shower, but I don't want to end this review on a negative one, because the hotel atmosphere is very relaxing.

We were very delighted to stay at this charming Inn very near St Marks Square. This family owned and operated establishment had a beautiful courtyard and although the rooms were not large, we had everything we needed and we were treated as valued guests. Something you don't always receive in large brand name hotels. We loved it!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the courtyard

We had a double supreme room and it was spacious. Breakfast is included and you can have it delivered to your room daily for no extra fee. There is free wi if and the front desk is extremely helpful. It is very close to San Marco plaza and very near most attractions. We had a lovely time and would go back here in a heart beat!

3 days in Venice are not a lot, so you want your hotel to be where the action is. Hotel Flora is perfectly located: 2 to 3 minutes away from piazza San Marco in a quiet street and a short walk from 2 Vaporeto stops. The family hotel is small and very cozy. You simply feel at home surrounded by old wooden furniture. The welcoming staff is extremely friendly. Breakfast is served in a salon filled with photographs of local beauties from the family's previous photo business. Notice the tables and chairs that seem to come from a doll's house!!! Too cute! Why did we pick that hotel among all others? because of its garden, a peaceful private green enclosure in this stone city. The hotel also offers free internet (but be careful as we got hacked...after all it is Venice) and a gym. We got the family suite with its own entrance. The suite is composed of 2 rooms and 2 bathrooms. Like the chairs and the tables, the bathtubs come from the same doll's house. Tiny bathtubs where you can barely fit your whole body (petite size) forcing your knees in your mouth and most of your body out of the water. Suggestions to improve the bathrooms were made!! For a place like Venice, Hotel Flora is definitely a place to remember.
