“A pleasant stay in a great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 27, 2014

We enjoyed our 4 nights at Bucintoro very much. The location was perfect with fabulous water views looking towards St Mark’s square and handy to everything.
The hotel has quality finishes and very smart in a nautical theme. The staff were very pleasant and professional. Breakfast was delightful in the ground floor dinning room.
We had room 403 on the fourth floor and although it was comfortable, clean and attractive; it was quite small especially at that expensive price. We paid a little more than AU $2550 for the four nights. The bathroom was attractive in dark green marble but also very tiny with hardly any room to put our own personal toiletries so that I had to use the stool for mine. It may have been their smallest room.
The weather was very hot and humid during our stay in the low 30's during our stay and our room was very hot at first. This was improved once we adjusted the vent to open it on the air conditioner and asked the staff not to open our shutters during the day. Keeping the sun out made a big difference to the room on our return to it during the day. It was interesting to hear that the name Bucintoro translated to the Doges galleon ship.

Room Tip: Keep the shutters closed when out during the day if the weather is very hot

Hotel Bucintoro made for a calm and scenic stay in Venice. It is located on the lagoon, below the entrance of the Grand Canal, 3 bridges below the crowds. Our quiet, wood paneled room was on the 4 th floor with a panoramic view of the lagoon. Lower level rooms may have a view issue with a large yacht parked out front. Stefanie and Giancarlo gave us a warm welcome and all the help we needed with restaurants and travel information. Breakfast is included and is quite varied. All the staff are delightful and efficient. Not a big hotel experience, but possibly a better one.

Room Tip: If views are important, make sure you get a higher room. Upper rooms may be warm in summer, but the...

Amazing staff! They were very helpful in finding restaurants to fit your appetite! You can't get lost finding it as long as you can find the Grand Canal. It is in a quiet area away from all the tourists. Outside their hotel is where the yachts park. We saw Addiction the super yacht that was incredible. Go to Osteria Oliva Nera for the best lasagna!

Stayed here one night following a Med cruise ... wish we could have stayed another day. Close to St. Marks Sq and "downtown" Venice, but just far enough away to avoid the crowds. The hotel has a nautical theme, which comes off very well. As others have noted, room was small-ish, but very nicely appointed. The view from our standard room (#403) was outstanding...St. Marks; the waterway; and lovely canal bridges.

Room Tip: #403 had a great view; walk-in shower.

We had a junior suite lagoon view on the top (fourth floor). Small (as are most rooms in Venice) but definitely fit for purpose. Very hard bed though, so may not be suitable for all. Well appointed, wonderful views as it was a corner room - overlooking both the lagoon and with sight of St Marks square etc. Charming and helpful staff; very nice continental breakfast (7.15-10.45!). Would certainly stay there again.

We have stayed in many a hotel, this was one of the best.
Small, friendly staff and fantastic location.
We were in room 501 on the top floor with a rooftop balcony and a view to die for. We could even watch the comings and goings on the €87 million yacht moored outside the hotel.
Breakfast was perfect and the facilities in the room all of great quality.
I have recommended to all our friends so it might book up soon!

We loved the hotel and the staff. Helped us with every request. Room 101 was great, but be forewarned about the bed being two singles pushed together. Also, the hotel is located directly across from a mooring point for large boats which can obscure the view of the lagoon, but not the city. Several very good restaurants located near-by.
