This was our first stop in Italy and after a long flight, wait and ferry ride it was really nice to only have to lug our suitcases up and down two small bridges to get to our destination. You could practically see the hotel from the vaporetto stop. Venice is a lovely long maze with lots of bridges and narrow alleyways and I could see it being really easy to get lost (especially when jet lagged!)

The room: Our room was pretty big, with a comfortable bed, and had a great view of the water.

Breakfast included: The breakfast was the best buffet breakfast we had in Italy - you could smell bread baking in the morning before heading down. The servers were very attentive and made excellent coffee. The eating area was small, but we always got a table with no trouble.

Walking around: Going out of the hotel, turning right was San Marco Square within a 10 minute walk. We got up really early one morning and walked down to the square and it was incredibly beautiful and peaceful before the throngs of tourists starting filling in around us. We could also walk to the Rialto bridge easily through the streets. Turning to the left of the hotel was a nice little neighbourhood where we had some excellent, well-priced, simple meals with no reservation needed. There was also a pretty garden further left.

Overall we really enjoyed this hotel. It was pretty expensive (booked last minute), but well worth it to us and I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

Arrived to this hotel at 9.30am after departing a wonderful cruise on the Royal Princess to enquire what time we could check in to be greeted with 10 mins. Lovely quality room, whole hotel has a "sailing" theme done very well luxury. Room good air con free wifi on the Grand Canal next to water bus station Arsenale. Excellent base. Lovely service and super continental breakfast. Left luggage and refreshed at 6pm to go to Airport by water taxi. Great spot, excellent service from all we met. Would highly recommend. Finished off a superb holiday.

Lovely little hotel in Venice. Small at 20 rooms, and those rooms are very compact, but they are presented immaculately and service is excellent.

We stayed in a superior double room, which was fairly expensive, but the room was excellent and had all the amenities we would expect. Service was very friendly and professional from all the members of staff we met. The location is also excellent - on the far side of St Mark's Square (from the bus/train station side), close enough to be walkable but outside the packed tourist areas. Easily walkable to all the main sights of Venice and close to the vaporetto stop on the side of the Grand Canal.

One minor gripe was that toast with breakfast was an added extra; we would consider this a staple.

Really pleased we stayed there and would certainly recommend it.

Room Tip: The Superior Double we chose was excellent and had great views of the Grand Canal; however we did not see any other rooms to compare against.

After more than one year I returned here and what's more to say about it? It's always more and more precious to my heart in my point of view, close to the major spots of interest, yet far from the hussle and yet in the heart of the real Venice...staff more polite and competent than ever, the hotel itself is so clean and bright..Nothing to complain aboput the rest of the staff but iHotel Bucintoro has a very special gift in its front office manager,Steven...I truly rely in his advices, always ready to help clients in each doubt, request, problem or need we might have...and I am always stunned by his ability in speaking fluently various foreign languages..so don't worry, wherever you may come from, there is always someone ready to understand and help you..and it's not so common in venice as one can think...so once again,I truly thank Hotel Bucintoro in making me feel at home abroad.Looking forward to be back ! Ciao ciao

Easy to get to, friendly staff, clean, great location away from huge tourist spots but close to all. Would stay here again for sure. Free breakfast and wifi. Only downside is wifi keeps disconnecting and you have to keep signing back on to it.
