My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our three-night stay at this small hotel, which is situated right on the lagoon. Our room had a wonderful water view. Before we arrived we asked for an upgrade to a larger room, and we were happy to find out that the front desk was able to accommodate us. Because of the double-paned windows, the room was extremely quiet, and the air conditioning was silent also. (I hate noisy window units that cycle on and off all night.) We really liked the location, too, just outside of the tourist district. We were only about five blocks from St. Mark's Square, so that was perfect. It was an easy walk from the Arsenale vaporetto stop, and the airport vaporetto (Alilaguna line) stops there also. There are so many restaurants nearby that you'll have trouble deciding where to eat. If you're more adventurous, explore the narrow streets and alleys nearby, which have a real neighborhood feeling, with some small shops and restaurants a lot cheaper than the tourist spots.

The only drawback I can think of is that our beds (twin size) were 33 inches wide, a bit narrower than the American standard. It didn't really bother us; I just mention it in case it matters to someone. The breakfast was adequate, and you can get eggs made to order for an extra fee. We found everything to be perfectly clean, and the hotel feels very well cared for.

We last stayed at this address in 2005 when it was a family run hotel, with amazing views from our windows of the lagoon and grand canal. We found it a great location for travelling on the vapotetti and for eating out on the via garibaldi and in the arsenale area. Each morning and evening we enjoyed the views from our rooms of Venice. We returned this year at greatly increased prices. Though the hotel was ableto offer us a room at short notice. We that the new owners had totally transformed the space. Our room on the first floor, where we had stayed before, was beautifully kitted out as a cabin with varnished wood, metal trimmings and a small marbled showroom. Compact and well equipped it was a third of the size of the original room we had stayed in. The small windows offered amazing views of Venice as well as ariial displays by local swallows. but we missed the large vistas that the old rooms afforded. The breakfast area on the first floor was compact too seating twelve people. We enjoyed a buffet breakfast with coffee or tea served by staff. Service was efficient and staff were well informed about local travel. We felt as if we were sailing on dry land,so it could be a good start for those moving from Venus onto a cruise holiday.

This is a small hotel with limited facilities more akin to a delightful guest house. The rooms are exceptionally clean and the staff really pleasant and professional. The only real negative is that my mattress was so hard I had very poor sleep quality.
The views from the rooms are truly exceptional , a sweeping panorama of the entire lido, totally stunning and a view people pay thousands of euros for. It really has to be one of the most awe inspiring vistas anywhere. You see gondolas, vaporettas, private luxury yatches , cruise ships, tugs ...,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Even better! The public transport system right outside the hotel is superb

We're very picky with hotels (we like the Four Seasons, etc.), but I have to say that this is a fantastic boutique hotel, very close to St. Mark's Square. It's on the Rio Ca di Dio, which means that it's easy to get to via water taxi (110 Euros from Marco Polo airport - which may be a bit pricey, but is completely worth it). Like the Danieli, because it's right on the main quai, there's no lugging your stuff through the alleys of Venice to get to your hotel. It has a subtle nautical theme, dark woods and white walls. We had a suite because we were traveling with our 2 kids and our view out onto the lagoon was amazing. The staff is excellent, very helpful and really informative. All in all, I would say this is one of the best boutique places I've stayed. Highly, highly recommended.

Room Tip: Try and get a room facing the lagoon. The views are incredible and the shutters block out the sound...

We have just returned from a very hot and sunny weekend in beautiful Venice. Very hot and crowded but the crowds did not detract from the stunning views. Hotel bucintoro is a gem in Venice it is located right by the canal side minutes from st marco square and the attractions. It is a small hotel but run so efficiently and is very clean (and I am picky) it has a lovely warm feel to it and we were made to feel welcome. It was so quiet at night we slept so soundly we did not wake up until 10.30 am very restful and comfortable. I asked for an adaptor to plug my straighteners in and it arrived within minutes as did the extra tea and milk. I would stay here again x

Room Tip: We were in 406 at the top and was very quiet

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights in May in the corner room on the second floor. Just breathtaking panoramic views of St. Mark's and up the Grand Canal. We spent two evenings sitting at the window with a bottle of wine. The room was comfortable size, well decorated and immaculately clean. The service was also great. Location is an easy 10 minute walk to St. Mark's and 1 minute walk to the water bus. Stefano and others at the front desk were all great as well. They gave us recommendations on food, avoiding crowds, and arranged our water taxi to the train station when we left - they were aware of our departure in the middle of the Regatta and advised us the appropriate arrangement without us even asking. Just great all around.

Stayed here with my boyfriend for two nights in one of the corner rooms and we couldn't have picked better! Less than 5 minutes away from the ferry, and a minute or two more away from the main plaza. Extremely easy to find as it is along one of the main canals and in a quieter locality so not crowded but still extremely close to the main sites - Our room was furnished with a pleasant nautical feel, had an amazing view of the harbour and Palazzo Ducale.

Also found the continental breakfast absolutely great - cosy place to eat and has a gorgeous view of the harbour outside - amazing start to our mornings in Venice!
