We were recommended this Hotel by a friend and were very happy with our stay here. We did not find it difficult to locate and once there were very happy to be away from the crowds. It was very quiet but close enough to everything we needed. Venice is such an amazing place and we had a wonderful time. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The room was like staying in an old palace and we find to to be clean and comfortable.

This was our first hotel on a two week honeymoon all throughout Italy, and we thought it was wonderful! We arrived via the airport, caught the #5 bus to the train station, then the vaporetto to the Ca d'oro stop. If you follow the directions given by the hotel, it is very easy to find - I was suprised, after so many reviews to the contrary. We also arrived at 9pm and had no issues.
We were given room 303 in the Annex (per our request) and it was spotless, and very large. It easily exceeded our expectations for the price. I loved the location - not in the middle of the 'tourist' area, and we easily could walk to several vaporreti stops, and also a pleasant walk thru the beautiful streets to the Rialto Bridge. We stayed two nights, and had a perfect stay.

Not a terrible place to stay. Evening staff member was extremely rude. Their "office hours" only go until midnight, so if you are out late, you must prearrange it by getting a front door key. BE AWARE - if you need to check out early, do it the day before and get a front door key. They lock the front door at night and you can't get out of the building. My fiance and I checked out on Sat afternoon because we had to leave early on Sunday (6am). When we tried to leave Sunday morning, all the doors were locked. Luckily we made enough noise where the evening staff member (I guess he was sleeping there) came out. After lecturing us that it was not within business hours and they were not "open" he finally opened the door and let us leave...... not a good lasting impression.

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Bernardi for three nights. The location, while not in the center of town, is still convenient to several different vaporetto stops and, if you don't mind walking, isn't that far from several of the key sights.

The room itself was sufficient, and the bathroom very clean. There was not too much noise at night.

Now, my husband wound up with some sort of series of bug bites across his upper chest. We *think* this was from leaving the windows open at night as that would have been the area not under blankets (and I didn't have anything similar). So... just be careful about such.

We stayed at this hotel July of 2007, and found it to be just fine. It was a little tricky finding it, but we somehow figured it out. It was tucked away but very close to the mail walkways and easy access to everything. Venice is a walking city, so anyplace you stay you'll just walk there anyway. There's a very yummy restaurant right next door to the hotel, with a very sweet Polish waitress that sat down with us at the table to chat. The only negatives that I can think of about this hotel is that the room's air conditioning only worked "ok" and the shower was a bit funky (the shower curtain only goes down to about knee level and with water ended up allll over the floor in the bathroom). The little morning breakfast that was included in the price was more than sufficient and really helped out with our budget. We paid 122 Euros per night for our family of 4.
