Do not even bother to book ! This hotel has the absurd policy to charge you one night if you don't cancel 72 hours ahead 3 days! This mean that if you book for 3 days and when you get there you don t like the place or you change your plans you will be charged at least one extra night .
I had to cancel 40 hours ahead and they charge me 160 euro . I complained since my company has booked several room bringing good business but they could care less. There are nicer and cheaper hotels that have the standard 24 hours cancellation policy chose one of them . More than belle arti brutte parti (bad places)

We stayed in the hotel proper. The people at the front desk were rude from the time of check-in until the time we left. They acted as if we were bothering them even if we just said hello. The room we originally got was falling apart. The wall had a big hole in it and was covered up by packing tape. The window to the outside was missing a hinge so when you opened the window it fell off. The wall sockets were coming out of the wall with exposed wires. It felt very unsafe. When we went back to the front desk they said it was their best room and they couldn't understand how we could have a problem with that room. We told them we wanted to check out. Instead they moved us to another room. This room was much bigger, better condition, and had great views of the city. So obviously they lied about the other room being their best room. But this room had a different problem. It was invested with bugs and mosquitos. The first night in that room I woke up with 66 bug bites. I looked like I had the measles. We told the front desk and showed them the bites and they said they would fix it. We thought they were going to change the room again, but instead they bombed the room. We get back to the hotel and they told us not to open the windows and had a can of insecticide in our mailbox. So here we are in a room that you couldn't open the windows and it was just bombed with insecticide. And worse, it was miserably hot that week and the air conditioning wasn't working. When talking to them about it they just didn't see what the problem was. They wouldn't let us check out even with all the problems and were going to charge us for the whole week even if our lives were in dire jeopardy. I don't know how this hotel made it into the Rick Steve's travel guide. I'll be writing to them as well. In my opinion people should stay away from this place.

Room Tip: Go some where else if you want a good room.

We spent 2 nights here at the end of our bus trip.

Good location near the Academia bridge. Lots of good restaurants nearby.

Our room was OK, bit cramped but others on the tour had smaller rooms. WiFi only at reception and garden. Aircon is controlled from the front desk. A bit strange.

Breakfast was cramped and average.

Probably reasonable place for Venice island.

Hotel Belle Arti is conveniently located in a less touristy part of Venice. Nearby are shops, an ATM, restaurants, and gondoliers. It is an excellent value, serves a good breakfast, and has a friendly staff.

toilets locks are not safe. i had stucked in the toilet, lock was not working properly, one staff of the hotel rescued me, so if you are alone in travel, take care about your toilet lock, because many toilets have no intercom.

Room Tip: higher floors are less noisy.

When booking accommodation at the hotel Belle Arti in Venice, make sure you have secured rooms in the main hotel itself. My friends and I booked two rooms at the Belle Arti in May and found ourself across the road in a very average hotel which serves as an annex to the main hotel. There is no concierge, no reception, no security - in fact, no services at all! Wi-fi has to be accessed in the lobby area of the main hotel. Our room reeked of cigarette smoke which had permeated the bedding and the linen. It still reeked after three days.... Facilites at the main hotel are fine, breakfast is average and there is an outdoor area for when the weather is fine.

Room Tip: Avoid the annex!

quoted a rate of EUR160 per night for 6 nights and was directed to the sister hotel, Domus Cavanis which is located in an old, run-down building across the street. there is no security, no reception or whatsoever, the walkway to the lift is dark and erie, even the lift stinks.
the room was totally unlike what is in the pictures posted on the booking websites - the shower door was spoilt, the phone was not working, there is no safe in the room, there were bugs flying around in the room and TONNES of mosquitoes. i complained to the staff and manager which they replied dismissively and irritably that the bugs are common. i requested to check out earlier because the room was not liveable, offering to just pay the penalty but was simply met with a NO from the manager who said the full reservation cost is payable. when i refused to hand over the credit card for payment, she took the printed confirmation and proceeded to key in the credit card numbers and charge the payment without my card!!!! terrible staff manners, worse from the manager! i have stayed in hotels/motels/hostels across many cities but never have i encountered such a terrible one. in short, STAY AWAY, there are wayyyyy much better hotels at the around the area.

Room Tip: Avoid At All Costs!!!!
