I stayed at the Hotel Agli Alboretti for 2 nights while in Venice and I loved this little hotel.

The staff was extremely welcoming and friendly, especially Anna, the owner. My room was very large for one person and it came with some nice extras - including a free minibar and complimentary slippers!

I absolutely loved the location - just steps away from the Accademia bridge and vaporetto stop. The neighborhood is very cute and very quiet but it took no time at all to get to Piazza San Marco, where all the action is. There is a nice pizza cafe just down the block and other cute restaurants and gelato places nearby.

The only criticism I would have is that the walls are very thin so you need to be careful about having your TV too loud, etc. But that is very normal for a european hotel.

On my last day in Venice, I was catching the night train to Paris at 8pm. The hotel was completely okay with me leaving my bags there for the entire day and they were cool with me stopping back a couple of times to use their restroom facilities.

I really loved this hotel and can't wait to stay there again.

This was our third visit in about 5 years - as before , we found the service friendly, the food excellent and very good value. This time we had the tasting menus at lunch on Easter Sunday - one fish and the other meat. In each case we had 4 courses plus two glasses of wine - and the bill was just a flat E60 for 2.

Small hotel with helpful staff. Standard single room, clean. Breakfast usual fare. Would definitely stay there again.

Excellent location in Accademia -- quiet. Two vaporetto stop options. Turn left out of the hotel door and away from the Grand Canal; you'll find quiet streets with some small shops, supermarket and several restaurants, and an expansive water view. If you want to take a long walk, you can do so without encountering hoardes of people. Great option to the hustle and bustle.

Stayed 1 night here. Located equidistant (about 100 meters) from Accademia bridge/vaporetto stop and Airport water bus. Very nice staff. Lots of stairs to climb! Breakfast was pretty extensive and hearty for such a small place. Would stay here again if only to avoid the masses across the bridge at St. Mark's Square.

We spent three nights in Venice in September, 2006 at the Agli Alboretti and loved it. The hotel is located about one hundred yards from the Accademia bridge in the Dorsoduro district. ( It actually faces the side wall of the museum.) This gives you the best of both worlds. The Dorsoduro is directly across the Grand Canal from San Marco and is less "touristy" than San Marco. However, the Accademia bridge allows direct access to the sights (and crowds) across the Grand Canal.
The hotel itself was fairly typical of small European hotels with rooms of varying sizes and shapes. The interior was clean, but could use some "freshening". Breakfast was good and the staff very helpful and friendly. I would stay at the Agli again without hesitation.

This hotel has a good location in Dorsoduro, away from the frenzy around St Marks, but in a good location (right next to the Accademia) for sightseeing. Our room was on the first floor overlooking the street, but was quiet at night. The room was rather small, but comfortable. The included Breakfast was a bit mean: 1 roll, 1 croissant and coffee: for the price they could maybe be a bit more generous, but then Venice is an expensive place to stay. Hence the neutral/average rating, but really this is an OK place.

The airport vaporetto drops you at Zattere, just at the bottom of the street, and in the other direction you have the Accademia vaporetto stop, so getting round is easy. For example, for a more ambitious trip, take 41/42 to Murano, then the LN line from the Murano Faro stop to Burano (v colourful island), then return to Venice San Zaccaria on the northern loop of the LN line via Lido.

We ate at Tavervno San Trovaso just round the corner from the hotel on Fondamenta Priuli and the associated Restaurant San Trovaso nearby at the bottom of Rio Terra Carita: both good value.

We stayed at the hotel this fall and had a wonderful visit to Venice. The staff was ok- not rude and not particularly friendly either. The room was ok. The restaurant was good and the bed was awful. The best thing about this hotel is the location. On our next visit, we'll probably stay somewhere else, but really, not a bad choice.

Its 21 rooms are furnished in 19th century or navy style and have been recently redecorated. They are fitted with private services, satellite TV, free wi-fi, mini bar and air conditioning in summer. They overlook either the lively street Rio Terà Foscarini or some private inner gardens among which the hotel's courtyard where, in Summer, breakfast is served. A lift is available as well as a top floor terrace where guests can sit and relax. The curious name "Agli Alboretti" comes from the "small trees" that were planted along the street Rio Terrà Foscarini at the end of 19th century when the canal was filled in and transformed into a street. ... more   less
