Water isn't the only thing deluging Venice - try 60,000 tourists a day. I got to say it was a bit of a shock after my last visit, admittedly some time ago. But this time I really felt the crush of numbers. And this made Pensione Accademia a most appreciated hotel after a day in the madding crowd. It has a delightful garden and also an internal courtyard - make sure to have an afternoon drink under the pergola on the canal which runs into the grand canal. Definitely an oasis. We had a suite which comprised a fairly large room on the front garden, and smaller bedroom and a reasonable sized bathroom. It was very comfortable and everything including wifi worked well. Breakfast was very good and hats off to the evening drinks waiter.

went for a wedding. Beautiful weather. Hotel location very close to Academia bridge. Not so quite as it is one of the main links to grand canale. If you are staying front facing over looking the canal you will hear all deliveries in the morning and hooting . We were allocated room 24 which is a box good for one but not for two. You have no space for anything. However very clean room and bathroom. Beautiful gardens . Breakfast very extensive. Definitely will stay there again but not front facing room.

Room Tip: Do not book room 24

Great location, easy water taxi ride from the airport practically to the front door. We had a nice clean room with a view to the canal. The breakfast was good and it was so nice to be able to sit out in the garden to eat. The location was ideal and the local neighborhood was fun to explore. There were some nice spots to stop and have a coffee and soak up Venice. Our room had everything you would need and the pensione had several common areas where you could sit and have a glass of wine. The front desk was courteous and cheerful.

I stayed at the Pensione Accademia for two nights in May. I found the location to be perfect. It was not on the Grand Canal but it was close to it. I had a great view of the canal from my room. There is a public bus stop at the bridge of Accademia and it is just a short walk from there to the hotel. Taking the bus you can get anywhere in the city in 10-20 minutes. Having the bridge of Accademia as a landmark was helpful as well as I can understand why people get lost so easily in Venice. The staff were pleasant and friendly. I asked for information a few times and found them to be helpful. My only complaint was that my single room was way too small considering the price I paid.

The property was nice enough, upon ck out the clerk asked me if I had eaten any items from the mini bar......I had not, but asked him if the peanuts sitting by our coffee items were chargable...he said they were. $2. So I told him consider it even for my hair dryer not working....geez, charging for a small bag of nuts. That didn't make a great impression with this hotel for me. It was just ok, I wouldn't go out of my way to stay there again,.

Easy to get to, in a quiet area, very pleasant, wonderful private garden for breakfast. Yes it is truly an oasis in busy Venice. Don't miss a vaporetto ride at sunset. It will take your breath away. A short walk to the "water bus" stop. If you don't get lost in Venice you are not having any fun. Our room also overlooked a side canal and it was a joy to watch the non-tourists about their daily comings and goings. The staff was excellent. Will definitely return to this pensione.

Room Tip: The room at the top is a bit of a stair climb but worth it. Also a room away from the main canal is...
