Taking a pasta making class with Marika was a wonderful deferment from the sensory overload of Venice. The Acquolina Cooking School is in Marika's warm and inviting home and is perfectly comfortable for the group to cook in. Marika is patient and sweet and very knowledgeable about food and cooking techniques. We enjoyed spending the day with her and the eclectic group that came together on that day.
My husband and I (in our 50's) had never taken a cooking class together nor had we ever attempted making homemade pasta. This experience was so positive that we will definitely do both again. As a matter of fact, we have taken the delicious recipes that Marika gave us and have made our own pasta twice already. So our Acquolina experience continues to live on long after we have departed Venice.
If you are looking to do something other than the traditional church and museum tours while you are in Venice, I would highly recommend a day with Marika learning to cook delicious food. Then you can take a little piece of Venice home with you to enjoy for many years to come!
