“Wonderful again”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2013

This was our second stay at the Al Ponte Antico and it was as fantastic as the first time. The same staff as last time pandering to our every whim they made us feel so welcome again and the service was exemplery. Just sitting on the terrace every morning watching the world go by at about 5 miles an hour was so relaxing our favorite hotel in our favorite city. Thank you Matteo, Oliver, Thomas, David, Alex, Roseba and all the staff who remain, more or less, behind the scenes. Ciao until next time

Absolutely lived up to what everyone else is saying. This hotel provided the most unforgetable expierience for my 83 year old father and I.

We were instantly greeted by Mateao and his courteous staff member. Observing that my father was using his walker, assisstance was offered imediately to him in an effort to accommodate his limited mobility.

We felt quite at home there and to my surprise when I left my father sitting at the spectacular dining veranda overlooking the Rialto Bridge, the staff said , "we will look after him for you while your out for a little while, don,t worry".

The breakfast was delisioso. My father enjoyed an omlette especialy made for him by the extremely accomodating staff. I enjoyed one of the cereals and some fruit, while trying to resist the wonderful pastries toast and jams. I must say the cappachinos here were especialy good.

Every staff member sparkled with people skills, intelligence, friendliness, great attitudes, kindness and willingness to excell , with ease, in an effort to make this an unforgettable and positive memory. This is the bench mark to which I will look for in hospitality.

This location is excellent. San Marc,s square is approx. 8-10 minute walk. The many quaint little shops were very picturesque. I loved the cobble stone narrow streets and no cars. The many branch networks of canals with the enchanting condolas and the gondaliers provided an atmosphere that really took you back in time.

We loved it here. I would definately recommend this hotel as garuntee not to disapoint.

Room Tip: My room was on the 1st or main floor with 2 large windows that swung open overlooking the grand can...

Great staff of friendly helpful people. But we were never informed during the booking process that our view of the famous Rialto Bridge would be obstructed by a very large construction plywood box. Have photos to show. A big disappointment upon arrival.

From the moment we stepped off our water taxi we knew we had chosen the perfect place to stay in Venice. Matteo and his staff were welcoming, professional and so helpful. Sitting on the verandah sipping champagne was a perfect way to begin our evenings - a perfect location. We particularly loved the intimacy of this small hotel and were made to feel very much at home. Can't wait to return!

Upon arrival by our private water taxi and being greeted by Matteo at the hotel dock, we knew that Al Ponte Antico would be a memorable experience! The hotel and location are both breathtaking and surreal -- we felt like we had stepped into a set of a movie.

After a day of sightseeing, my husband and I enjoyed relaxing on the terrace, sipping prosecco, and watching the gondolas and boats along the Grand Canal. Thank you Matteo and Alex for making us feel so welcome. I dream of returning to Venice and Al Ponte Antico!

There is only one way to describe this Hotel, the best of the best, all the staff knew and acknowledged us by our name all the time. Our 2 nights there will forever be in our memories and the next time we are going to Venice we WILL stay there.
