“Close to train station”
Reviewed June 23, 2012

If you dont expect much and just need a room close to the station this does the job.
Breakfast was not bad.
Service was good.
Room was a room, nothing flash.
Bathroom - I did not enjoy having a shower with the bidet. It was the type of shower you need to wear thongs/flip flops in.
Location - Great!
Wouldn't personally stay here again.

My sister and I stayed here for 4 days. Hotel is very near - walking distance from Sta. Lucia Station which is very convenient if you are lugging heavy bags. We booked for a room with twin bed and quite satisfied although its not ideally spacious and the bathroom was also quite small.Rooms are clean and so are the linens. You will see however mosquitos flying around ocassionally especially if you open your windows( Might be common in Venice coz of their canals) . Breakfast is good with ham , salami, cheese and cereals, bread, etc. I love their Cafe Latte and fresh croissants. Breakfast area is cozy. The reception people and the staff are wonderful and always ready to provide assistance. I' m fine staying in this kind of hotel as I am no fuzzy traveller. For as long as I get resful sleep in a clean and quite room , I am happy. This hotel has reasonable value compared to other nearby hotels. I will recommend this hotel to friends and relatives.

P.S. The door of room 8 is hard to open using old model door-key assembly. Hope the hotel consider changing and modernizing the door key entry.

Venice is a real tourist trap - be prepared to spend if you want to go around and see as much as you can. I came at their peak time ( mid June) and The place can really get crowded.

Room Tip: Get a room near the street so the windows can be open from time to time to to allow fresh air .

Ticks most boxes. Basic room, comfy bed, tv works. Needs updating but the economy doesn't help that I'm sure. Staff more than helpful. Can't leave the windows open for air as no insect net and it's a bit noisy from the alley below until 1am but no fear of missing breakfast as the bells go off at 7am from the nearby church. That's not bad thing by the way as your time in Venice may be short and yo don't want to miss a thing. The vapourette is at the end of the alley, it's close to the station and the bus station so no lugging bags too far. Pack light if Venice is your only stop, iron everything as no irons available and a travel hairdrier is a bonus in this hotel. Have a meal at Brek just around the corner. Good value.

Downside - We have room 19 and if you have any mobility problems or enjoy a vino, the shower is a killer unless you have size 4 or below shoes (35 for our European friends) BE AWARE..

It is close to the Venezia Santa Lucia train station, but that is about the only thing good about this hotel. I'm not sure if you can even call this a hotel. It was that bad.

A Twin Room is basically two skinny single beds pushed together in the middle of a claustrophobic room. The bathroom is also very small, and it gets very humid because there is no fan. The old and distasteful carpet, bedsheets, curtains in the room all make the room feel very dark and wet. The AC exists, but it is very loud and hardly functioning so we just opened the window to let some fresh air in only to find mosquitoes in our room that bothered our sleep for the rest of the night. I would never come back. It was worse than some of the dirt cheap youth hostels I've stayed at.

Dear Guest,

we thank you for the time you’ve spent to review your stay in our Hotel.

All feedbacks, either positive or negative, help us to improve our services and the care we always provide our customers.

This said, you’ve booked a Double room Classic for three nights, and that’s exactly what we provided you of.

The room is more than comfortable and can easily host up to three people.

Take into consideration that its wideness reflects the standards of all Hotel rooms in a city like Venice whose buildings count hundreds of years on their shoulders.

Besides, the room you’re speaking about has been completely renovated at the beginning of this year.

In fact:

1) The carpets are neither old nor distasteful. In fact, the new ownership pays close attention to the aesthetic side. The new carpets that adorn the rooms have been chosen for their sober and “fresh” colours, just with the intent to give more light to the rooms indeed.

2) We can not understand how the sheets and curtains can concur in making the room feel dark ‘cause, well ... they are white!

Regarding the noise level of our conditioning devices, we can ensure you that every year we commission a specialized company to verify the above mentioned systems.

All our air-conditioners have stand the specific tests.

Besides, our technician regularly provides to their maintenance.

As per the mosquitoes, let us say to you that Venice is a real nursery for them.

Despite the mosquitoes, we strive to ensure our guests a pleasant stay.

For this reason, we equip each room with a device that allows them to chase mosquitoes away, to prevent their bites and to ensure a more than safe sleep.

A final consideration on our bathrooms.

All bathrooms are equipped with an extractor fan system and, honestly, it seems impossible to us that they can get “very humid”.

We have been taking a group of students and faculty to the Hotel Florida for 8 years. This past May -- wow -- an already good hotel has made a flock of improvements. The staff has always been very helpful, and now that helpfulness is enhanced with lovely new decor and a yummy breakfast. The breakfast is no longer "minimal"; it's yummy.

We reached Venice around dinner time and we only had to spend the night at the hotel. Most of the places were expensive considering the fact that we just had to use the room for 6-7 hours! We looked at quite a few hotels around here. In the price bracket that this particular place is, i would say its the best of the 4-5 hotels we looked at. The room was clean enough. Overall we cannot complain coz the price was quite good as compared to the other places around.

Its also quite close to the entrance point of Venice and we could carry our luggage from the car park without any hassle or taxi!

Room Tip: Try to get a room facing the road. The side view is of another building and some people kept making...

My husband and I spent 4 days here in April. After reading some of the reviews I was a bit worried but the price was right. We are so glad we stayed there. My husband paced off the distance from the Grand Canal - 69 steps. Yes it was a bit noisy at times, We were on the first floor on the front of the hotel. There was some noise from the bars and restaurants in the street but so what. Our window was open most of the time and we enjoyed the clatter. After a day of sight seeing we had no trouble sleeping and I seem to remember that after about 10 pm the noise abated. As for waking up in the morning to the sound of church bells - I think that this was one of the benefits - this is what we came to Italy for. The hotel was clean - the beds were comfy - the staff was friendly and helpful - breakfast was great. There was a nice selection of croissants, cheese, ham, yogurt, cereal, juice, tea, coffee. I would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Rooms on the street side are noisier but did you come to Venice to go to bed early?
