We stayed at the Giorgione for our 30th wedding anniversary. The greeting in reception was genuinely friendly and welcoming. A bottle of sparkling was waiting for us in our room which was spacious, clean and comfortable. As other reviewers have said, the location is away from the hustle and bustle but within easy reach of all that this wonderful city has to offer. Restaurants of all prices are also close by. We stayed in room 308 which has an "eagle´s nest" with table and chairs from which you have views across the rooftops towards St. Marks. I can imagine sitting there in the warmer months with a glass of wine ....... bliss! All in all a lovely experience at this hotel and thanks to all the staff there.

We visited this quaint hotel for a wedding anniversary trip a few years ago and always promised to take our children back there to experience venice in a nice friendly hotel. Only my daughter was able to join us on this trip in August 2013. We flew into Venice airport and picked up a hire car for 6 nights at the Oasi beach hotel in lake Garda (see previous review) we visited Verona, Pisa, and Florence Verona was a surreal experience, the tore at Pisa was a sight we have always wanted to see but disappointed that it was all there was worth seeing., must go back to Florence again.

What more can I say about the comfortable well serviced peaceful surroundings of the Giorgione hotel, the level of service has not altered since our previous visit, we managed to take our daughter to all the places we enjoyed visiting before and she loved every minute.

Room Tip: Top floor 2 level room was excellent, quaint as ever. Hotel is not high enough to have views over V...

This is a wonderful hotel. It's a Venetian palace that has been converted to a hotel. Rooms are lovely with authentic Venetian decor. The grandeur of the place gives you a feel of royalty. The staff was helpful and warm. It is situated in the Canaregio district of Venice - 5 mins walk to Rialto Bridge and 10-15 mins walk to St Mark's Square. We went in February and got a great deal. If you are looking for a place that is not too crowded but at an ideal distance from all major spots- look no far than Giorgione. Staying around St Mark's Square can be expensive and definitely a bit too touristy. For an authentic feel of the Venetian culture, its alleys and streets - Canaregio is a good place. The breakfast was sumptuous. The breakfast courtyard is awesome. A definite Thumbs Up!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our three days stay at Hotel Giorgione. The reception staff were pleasantly efficient and nothing was a trouble. Our comfortable room was small but aedequate and everything was spotless. The breakfast room is a delight and so are the breakfasts and the waiting staff. The hotel is conveniently situated to everywhere in Venice and Cannaregio is a lovely district to stay in with loads of amazing streets to get lost in.

The hotel Giorgione is a true gem. Situated between the grand canal and St. Marks square you could not wish for a better location. Close to the tourist spots but far enough out to see the more everyday life of Venice the initial impression was of a clean, well run and welcoming hotel.

We arrived by plane to the main Venice airport and got a water bus costing to Rialto Bridge which cost 15 euro. You then need to walk for no more than 10 mins (5 if you are a quick walker) to the hotel which is actually a good thing as it gets you orientated to the area.

Our room was just off the main court yard and was well decorated and clean. The room wasn't that big but the hall way it had provided storage and the bathroom was generous. We has two single beds which had been put together as a double but they moved around a little on the stone floor who was a little annoying.

The mini-bar was very reasonably priced and the room also had a safe for valuables. Being on the ground floor and the window looking out on to the street there was noise from late night wanderers and early morning workers but a different positioned room or one on the first floor would cure that.

The restaurant which is attached to the hotel but cleverly separate is impressive as well with freshly made food cooked from what was bought at the market in the morning. The hotel has a small bar, a pool table, well sized dining area and even a small swimming pool (which we didn’t try as it was a little chilly for us to brave).

As a general note about the city, we went on two organised trips, a full day walking / boat tour and a half day boat tour of some other islands, I would certainly recommend doing one or both as you get to see the wider city. The tour guides … strangely all called Barbara … were excellent. I have already recommended this hotel to friends and family so I have no problem recommending it on here. It is a great place to stay in the heart of a beautiful city.

Giorgione Hotel is an excellent choice of place to stay while in Venice. it is close enough to everything yet not over run by foot traffic and crowd. the staff were excellent. they were very helpful and took care of making reservations for shows and dinner. even their resident cat was great. the hotel has an elevator which makes it very convenient if you have big luggage. Wi Fi signal was excellent. Breakfast was very good both the spread/food choices and the location/ambiance. right when you step out of the hotel, there is an ATM machine on the right and a great restaurant (trattoria da Bepi) on the left. I would definitely stay in this place the next time im back in Venice.

Room Tip: ask for a room facing the court yard.
