This a lovely hotel in a very convenient location, close to Vaporettos and St. Mark's Square but quiet in the evenings. Rooms are very comfortable, the staff friendly and helpful and the breakfast above average. The rooftop restaurant is a gem, excellent food and great views.

We've stayed there before and will stay again when we are in Venice.

Highly recommended.

We have just had a lovely 3 night stay at the Locanda Vivaldi. Our room was on the second floor with a fantastic view over the Bacino di San Marco and the Island of San Giorgio. The room décor was typically venetian and perhaps a little tired in places – but just perfect for a stay in Venice.
The location of the hotel is great with easy access by foot to the main sights, and right by the San Zaccaria vaporetto stop. Our room overlooked the Riva degli Schiavoni which is a very busy pedestrian route for visitors arriving by boat or vaporetto. We didn’t, however, find this to be a problem, in fact we quite liked observing the busy throngs from the comfort of our lovely room and there was no significant noise at night.
The best feature of this hotel is the rooftop terrace. The views from this terrace are just superb!! We had an excellent dinner there one evening and also went up there for drinks on another occasion.
Breakfast in the hotel was very good.
We found the staff on reception to be very helpful. I have read several reviews from travellers who found them to be rude and I can understand this, as they were not overly warm and friendly. They were, however, polite, helpful and efficient.
I have stayed in many hotels in Venice, including several of the big names and I would rate this hotel as one of the best.

Definitely recommend this hotel especially to first time visitors to Venice. The professional staff arranged pick up from Piazza Roma in a beautiful water taxi which ferried us directly to the hotel. The location is fantastic in the heart of the action and easy to locate - which after being lost in the streets of Venice - is a very significant plus. The thought of having to navigate the back streets of Venice to locate a hotel with or without luggage is beyond stressful. The buffet breakfast was generous and delicious- certainly value added. The roof top terrace is very special with gorgeous views of the city - and the best wifi connections there too. Will certainly return to Locanda Vivaldi.

Nice hotel - rooms are a bit dated and décor is old-school, but hotel was clean and a decent size. Although the showers (at least in a standard room) were tiny.

Breakfast buffet was decent. Staff was helpful.

Right across from the water buses and about a 10 minute walk to the San Marco stop, where you can get tour buses and get the airport bus (15 Euro vs. 100 Euro for a private taxi).

The restaurant area outside wasn't worth stopping into - I stopped just for a drink and they rushed the check even though I had barely touched my drink.
