We stayed 3 nights in this fantastic hotel in room 206 with a splendid view on the lagune and the Riva Schiavone. It's the room on the website. The room itself with was well decorated in old "Venice-style" and the bathroom were extremely clean and spacieus. The staff was very friendly en helpfull. Also the breakfast was sufficient.
Unfortunately we could not take breakfast or have a dinner on the rooftop restaurant. It was only openend as a bar, so just for a drink.
Nevertheless Locanda Vivaldi is one of the best places in Venice to stay. When we revisit Venice, we will certainly choose Locanda Vivaldi as our hotel to stay.

I stayed at The Vivaldi with my family. We stayed for five nights in two of the best rooms we have ever had. We decided on this hotel after spending weeks trawling tripadvisor. Having exchanged a few emails with the hotel prior to booking I felt confident that we'd made the right choice. The few emails, by the way, amounted to well in excess of thirty by the time we arrived. The hotel responded promptly to every query and request despite my persistent pestering.

The location is excellent with views second to none. Everything worth seeing is within walking distance. My daughter and her boyfriend occupied room 302 which was adjacent to the terrace bar/restaurant. The room has two double doors opening out onto a long narrow terrace. We took early evening aperitifs on the terrace watching the boats and occasional liner pass by. We had room 402 which is a large adjoining double suite. It has a terrace on the canal with a side view of the lagoon. Simply wonderful! The rooms were spottlesly clean and well maintained. It did however take us a while to get used to the air-con in 402 which was controlled by reception. In fairness to the hotel though, a quick call to reception and the setting was promptly changed. Towels and all bed linen were changed daily - never come across this before - and the nightly turn-down service came with a few sweets on the pillow and the weather forecast for the next day. These little touches add up and mean a lot!

Breakfast was pretty basic and with very little variation, but nevertheless quite a good selection - cereals, pastries, cakes, bread, fruit, cheese, cold meats, jams, scambled egg and bacon (very very streaky though). However, it was quite adequate for us and we certainly had no complaints. We dined at the terrace restaurant on one evening where there was a good selection of dishes on offer. The food was fresh and tasty, the service was excellent and overall it was extremely good value for money. The highlight of this restaurant however is that you get the same fantasic view as you would from the terrace of The Danieli where you would pay at least three times as much. Take a look at the menu and prices and you'll probably be pleasantly surprised.

The staff are very helpful and most speak excellent English. As previously mentioned, they responded to my numerous emails, arranging airport transfers and helping with restaurant bookings. There was champagne with chilled water and glasses in both rooms on arrival and they were happy to provide ice buckets on request. They clearly care about their customers!

Book a room with a view of the lagoon if you can. Room 302 is expensive but well worth paying the extra for. Book with confidence!

Thanks Hotel Vivaldi for conributing towards our very enjoyable and memorable holiday in Venice. Grazie!!!

Room Tip: 302 is the best room - for couples. This is on the top floor overlooking the lagoon and has a terrac...

This is a place you want to visit whenever staying in Venice. Lovely vistas, just less than 30 rooms so the whole place has a cosy feel to it. Not cheap, but hey this is Venice and your staying at Antonio Vivaldi's former residence..Have at least one dinner on the rooftop terrace to drink on his hospitality. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Ask for room on third floor with view on laguna e.g. 202 or 203

The views from the rooftop restaurant and the rooms on the front and the side are better than a Grand Canal hotel. From the very moment we arrived to our sad farewell we were treated as special. The staff are attentive, always willing to answer questions and help where they can. Breakfast by the canal side was lovely and the service excellent. The decor is superb and the service second to none. We stayed 3 nights and would never even bother to look for anywhere else should we be lucky enough to return. The little touches like turning down the beds, the weather report for the morning and a little chocolate set this hotel far above the mediocrity that prevails in so many Italian hotels and especially in Venice where no hotel really has to try, there are that many tourists. The restaurant is excellent for food, wine and service... Not only is it some of the best food we ate in Italy, certainly Venice, but also some of the most reasonably priced. The maitre D even kept our table reserved for us while we went off to a concert for 2 hours. Now that is treating your guests with thought and care. Nothing negative to say at all. Simply superb.

Locanda Vivaldi is decorated in classic Venetian fashion: antique chests, desks, and chairs in the lobbies, beautiful Murano glass sconces, damask wall coverings that are perfectly matched and coordinated with the upholstery, marvelous cotton sheets, marble (mosaic) floors and stairs. The front door opens onto the waterfront of the Venetian Lagoon, 2 bridges (5 minute walk) from St. Mark's Square. The side entrance is a private water taxi dock leading to the lovely little courtyard. The public and private rooms are air conditioned and there is an elevator to move guests and luggage. Staff was excellent, helpful and considerate. The restaurant on the roof (third floor) has a wonderful view and very good food and service (and priced quite reasonably for the area). Breakfast is included in your daily rate and is very generous, including eggs, several kinds of bread and pastries, cheeses and sandwich meats, yoghurt, fresh fruit, cereals, juices and coffee/tea/hot chocolate/espresso/etc. We had a fantastic view of the lagoon and the daily ebb and flow of tourists and water craft at the docks in front of the hotel. We found the sound proofing very good and were not bothered by any noises while our window was closed. (If you are inclined, take a look at the beautiful construction of this building: For example, the doors and windows are fitted to the marble surrounds in a manner that is rarely seen in modern construction.) Such a nice way to experience Venice!

We stayed here for 2 nights and cannot fault a thing ! The hotel is in a fantastic location close to the water buses and Piazza San Marco. Our air conditioned room was lovely and clean with fresh towels appearing twice a day. Service from the reception staff was excellent. When we asked how best to get to Murano a private boat arrived within a few minutes to take us there. The rooftop terrace was wonderful for an evening drink and a complimentary Bellini included, again with great service. Breakfast was also good. I would stay here again and recommend this hotel to anyone.

Right from the front door all of the furnishings in this hotel create an olde worldly atmosphere befitting the Venice Island. The hotel is ideally situated near the San Zaccaria water bus stop, right on the pedestrian area. This provides an excellent view of the lagoon but can also be noisy (we were on the first floor) due to the number of tourists passing by in the peak season.
The staff were extremely knowledgable helping in regards to giving directions, information about Venice and locating lost luggage.
There is an excellent open-air restaurant with outstanding views of the lagoon from the top floor of the hotel. The food is simple but delicious and reasonably priced.
