Locate in the old Jewish ghetto- off the main streets in a small square, this restaurant offered good food at reasonable prices. Service was prompt and friendly. The pasta and piazza were great. Dine inside or out.

We visited Al Faro on our first night in Venice. It was early evening and only one other party was eating. We had pizza, which was quick and very tasty (and I couldn't finish mine!). The choice of pizza was amazing!

The staff were helpful and friendly.

We had 2 prosecco spritz (4 Euros each), 2 pizzas, a bottle of mineral water and 2 generous limoncello (which I have had free in the past, but we were charged). The bill came to 44 Euro, which didn't seem bad at the time but is probably average for Venice.

Stopped for lunch having just been on a tour of the Jewish Ghetto area of Venice.
The staff were all very friendly and knowledge and the beer was excellent. Otherwise all else was ok. We only had a small snack but the table next to us had the Menu of the Day for €12 and looked fine.

Visited with friends on a balmy Saturday evenining, so ate outside under large umberellas. The waiters were helpfull, prompt and had a sense of humour. The food was good, 3 had the tourist menu, (which although advertised, we had to ask for), at 12 euro pp, I chose from the normal menu, where the choice was large, - the Basil Gnocci was superb. While dining, strolling musicians played, all adding to the atmosphere. Nice Bellini's and an interesting selection of beers too. Not in a very busy area so a good place for a relaxed evening.

Group dinner. Owner was nice enough but wasn't ready to serve our group. Outside seating got attended to but I think we were an afterthought. Took us nearly two hours to get served and the meal was subpar to say the least. The pork chops they served were tanned not cooked. Could have used them on shoes. No bread available. Just all in all a lousy effort on the part of the restaurant. In two weeks this was by far the worst meal experience we had. Sorry folks, if you want pizza this might be the place, anything else, I'd move on down the street.
