Overall great experience. We only spend one night in Venice and this was perfect for us. The receptionist greeted us at the door.. to ensure we did not walk past it. It was 10 minute walk over the train. One big bridge you have to lug your luggage over. The room was clean and neat. You can tell they take it personally. The best part... the breakfast. The coffee (coffee creme) amazing. We sipped it on top of the roof that I could probably have stayed at all morning. What a great view of venice.

The character of the place ... truly authentic venetian. Owner/receptionist very friendly. Would stay here again anytime.

Not close to main attractions but close to train. Behind hotel great restaurant as well.
It would have been nice to have a few extra pillows besides two but still place was excellent. We did not get suite just plain room. In venice who needs a fancy room. You walk the streets in the morning go to the roof top Your golden under the venetian sun.

We had only one night (not enough) in beautiful Venice following a cruise in August 2013 and are so glad we chose to stay at Ca dei Polo, very handy to the cruise dock and only a few minutes to the station for our train the next morning. Massimiliano and Stephano were wonderful to deal with, and offered much information and any assistance we could need. The old facade of the hotel hides the wonderful renovated reception and rooms inside, and the outdoor area on the top floor is just magic, with lovely views over the canals. Breakfast was great, as was our room, and we really do hope to return one day.

My girlfriend and I spent 3 nights in Ca' dei Polo in late August. First of all, the place is beautiful, although it is a bit hard to find. A nearby restaurant helped us locate it as we kept walking past - but that was really no big deal. We stayed in the junior suite, and it was beautiful - Murano glass fixtures and all updated amenities and bathroom. The room was very clean and the breakfast was more than adequate.

The first day, I had a few issues that I was not pleased with service wise, however I have not detracted from the score for two reasons - 1). this is a bed and breakfast, not a hotel, and 2). Stephano.

Stephano took great pride in giving us personal attention and went well above and beyond to make certain we were enjoying ourselves. It was like having a personal concierge and a pleasant one at that. Thank you Stepahno, for making our stay so wonderful.

What a beautiful little hotel the Ca dei Polo is. nestling on the Canal di Santa Maria Maggiore. Stefano the owner was there to greet us as we arrived and explained everything we needed to know before showing us personally to the junior suite on the first floor overlooking the canal the setting was perfect!
Entering through the beautiful double doors originally from India into what can only be described as opulent luxury that the pictures cannot do justice.
The room was beautiful and once shown round we were left alone to enjoy the ambiance. Breakfast was served in a beautiful dining room on the second floor and was an excellent selection of continental fare with freshly made coffee served at your table by the staff, who also informed us of the terrace area on the roof and suggested we finish off our breakfast up there to soak up the views and the atmosphere of Venice in the morning.
This hotel and Stefano cannot be praised enough and we will be sure to enjoy the service and hospitality of the Ca dei Polo whenever we return to Venice which we intend doing on many more occasions.

If you are going to Venice this is the place to stay!!!

stayed for 3 nights prior to a cruise. Arrived by plane, so easy to get to from the bus station only a few minutes walk and also so close to the cruise terminal. Rialto and s. Marcos an easy walk. Room was very spacious, breakfast was very satisfactory. Plenty of eateries at your door. Stephano was extremely helpful and a true gentleman. A great place to stay in Venice.

After much deliberation, I chose to stay at Ca dei Polo, because of previous reviews and proximity to Piazzale Roma. After arriving on a late flight from Paris, were warmly welcomed by Massimiliano who had stayed late to meet us.
Over time we met Francesca who I had emailed from Australia and also Stephano. All had good suggestions on activities and places to eat.
Our room was lovely, the whole building was beautiful. Every morning we had a lovely breakfast served wonderfully by the lady there.
Could not fault any part of our stay, will return and recommend to all.

The facade of the building looks old (and it is really old palazzo!!!), shabby and small. But inside the hotel includes 2 totally renovated buildings, decorated in Venetian style, with spacious rooms and modern bathrooms. Soundproofing of windows is good and the noise from canals doesn't bother.
Breakfast is miscellaneous. The stuff is very helpful and professional (you don't see anybody except the receptionist and a woman at breakfast).
And a charming terrace on the roof!
