I found this hotel very quaint and charming. Our room was rather small for 2 people, more of a size of one., It's about the size of a cruise cabin with no window. but we weren't in the room long. Great location, great service at the front desk, rooms could have been cleaner but OK. Breakfast was the best we had found during our entire stay through Rome and Florence, This buffet served scrambled eggs and bacon. No where else did you find this. Pack lightly. If I can travel to Italy for 9 days in a carry on, you can too. If you're taking the train, there is a bridge you have to cross. It's 30 stairs up and 30 stairs down. If you have a lot of luggage, the short trip can be unbearable. You can also use the amenities of the Grand Carlton Capri right on the canal, like drink discounts. I say yes to this hotel

Room Tip: Don't go by pictures, they are deceiving on size. Typically European rooms are small.

The rooms in the pictures we had viewed on internet all looked bigger and brighter than what we actually got. The bed was not very comfortable. Having said that the room was very clean and quiet and the service offered was very good.
The food (breakfast) was delicious and nutritious.
The Hotel is in an excellent location.

A very quiet hotel, just off the grand canal. Very near the bus and train station. Just go past the carlton grand and there is a small narrow street to the left. About a 20 minute stroll to the Rialto area. There are lots of small cafes , restaurants and shops on the way.
Like all city rooms it is small. The decor is pale, calming ,with a wonderful murano glass chandelier to give it that venetian opulence . The rooms were spotless. Breakfast was a lovely buffet with pots of strong coffee and steaming milk.and set us up for a busy day sightseeing.
The staff in the hotel were all very helpful the rooms were spotlessly clean Overall good value for money

We stayed here after driving to thru Italy , is was super easy to get to from the parking garages and in a great location away from all the hustle and bustle but still just a quick walk. The breakfast was simple and good. The cappucino was awesome !

Room Tip: We booked the hotel based on reviews that said they had great balconies but unfortunately you do not...

This is my 4th visit to Venice, and my first stay at this hotel. Stayed with my daughter April 10-12, 2013. A little hard to find the alley the first time...had to ask at the Grand Carlton, just in front of Carlton Capri, but after than, easy walk from bus, train station. Very convenient to walk to any area of interest in Venice, or if you'd rather take the vaporetto, the hotel is just a quick walk over the very close bridge over the Grand Canal to the vaporetto stop. Hotel was very clean, staff very helpful and the front desk is staffed 24/7. Located in more of a quiet residential area, yet just a few yards to get to the wonders of Venice. Hotel prices in Venice are ridiculous, but this is a good value...for Venice. I would definitely stay again.

A quiet, warm and cosy place to stay. The room we had was nice, a bit dated in it's decor but very clean and comfortable.
We had a bit of trouble finding it as you go down a small alley way to get to it, thats the quickest way anyway.
Once you know where it is all is weel. It is a stones throw to the railway station and Ferranova boat station so you can explore the canals.
The staff were very courteous and helpful.
A nice breakfast was included in our tariff and was well worth it.

You will be happy to learn that the bedbug infestation seems to have been beaten when the hotel was totally fumigated during the winter when the hotel was closed. I recommend taking a superior room which is only a few euros more than a standard room, but at least large enough that you can't touch both walls when you stretch out your arms. The room was comfortable, if small. The proximity to Piazzale Roma and the train station and only a few meters from the Grand Canal make the location prime.

Room Tip: Pay a few euros more for a superior room; the standard rooms are tiny.
