“Classy Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 3, 2014

We stayed at the Boscolo for three nights. This hotel is located in the residential area. You walk in to a gorgeous decorated lobby. Very elegant and classy looking. Huge murano glass chandeliers, red and gold fabric couches just incredible. At check in Claudio couldn't have been nicer. The hotel had a free water shuttle to Murano and St. Mark Square. You need to make reservations for the shuttle. Because my has platinum premiere status with Marriott, we were given the buffet breakfast at no charge. The breakfast was the best. The waitress at breakfast (I do not know her name) was extremely friendly and really nice. Very professional and on the ball. They were very good at giving recommendations for dinner and must sees. Our room was gorgeous and huge. Lots of closets and pretty painted beams on the ceiling. Bathroom was really nice. The hotel had a beautfiul grass garden in the back that went right to the hotel doc where you caught the free water shuttle. Our room faced the garden. Very easy to get to the airport from the hotel. It was a three minute walk to the water bus stop that took you directly to the airport. I had a problem with my flight for the way home so Phillip at the front desk went above and beyond his job and got airline on the phone for me. Phillip was really nice and very accomodating. He was probably one of the nices front desk people that we have ever encountered. The location was really good. We took the water shuttle twice to Saint Mark's Square. We always walked back.

My wife and I stayed here for four nights in late March / early April 2014 in a Superior room -

- The Cannaregio region of Venice is a quiet and peaceful area but only 15 minutes walk from the tourist / shopping area of Rialto Bridge and 20 minutes from St Marks Square;
- Our room was excellent: large and very clean, decorated in a traditional style with a beautiful marble floor;
- The staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent english language spoken by all the staff;
- Breakfast was superb! The main course is cooked to order with a beautiful buffet as well .... but allow an hour to eat it as there is just so much choice :- )
- The complimentary shuttle boat to St Marks Square is a real treat - we used it twice and had a fantastic trip around the island to the square;
- Complimentary Spa centre which looked excellent (although we never tried it);
- There are a number of good quality, good value restaurants within 500 metres of the hotel (look on the Fondamenta degli Ormesini and Fondmenta della Sensa). These areas offer canal side dining at a very reasonable price (two courses and a half litre carafe of wine for two people for a total of 40 to 50 euros plus tip);
- 50 metres from the hotel to a beautiful church (Madonna dell'Orto) - worth a visit with a couple of paintings by Tintoretto;
- One of the few hotels in Venice with a beautiful garden with sun loungers;
- Transfer to the airport is easy - use the AliLaguna service from the airport dock to the Madonna dell'Orto landing stage on the lagoon. You can prepay the Alilaguna ferry via the internet and get a good discount - you then exchange the internet voucher for return tickets at the ticket office on the jetty;
- The hotel is only a four minute walk from the Madonna dell'Orto landing stage on the lagoon.

Overall a fantastic place to spend a few days - one of the very best hotels we have stayed in! Our sincere thanks to all the staff at the hotel for making this such a wonderful holiday.

(PS - my photos where taken on a mobile phone and dont really do justice to the hotel but I have included them anyway)

Room Tip: We had a superior room (room 122) which was large (large entrance hallway, ample wardrobe space, hug...

Had a lovely stay at the Boscolo. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and well appointed. There is a handsome boat that will shuttle you to St. Marks Square which is much more comfortable and convenient than the public transport. Martina and Claudio at the desk brightened our day with friendly bongiornos and expert advice. Ivan, the concierge was also very helpful and a pleasure to deal with, recommending concerts and operas that made our visit extra special. The only reason I give the hotel 4 stars rather than 5 is that the location is out of the way. The hotel is a good distance from St. Marks Square and that is somewhat inconvenient. All that being said, I hope to return to the Boscolo some day!

We stayed here five nights and had a great experience. The breakfast is the best we had in Italy with varied and unique custom orders in addition to an elaborate buffet.

The hotel has the renovated villa with lots of Venetian art, a lovely garden, rooms off the garden and in the lagoon boat house/welcome building. We were in the boat house with a lovely view to Murano.

My husband and I stayed here for one night, ending our two-week tour of Italy. We stayed the night before in the Boscolo Milano and the experience could not have been more different. While this hotel isn't as modern as the Milano, the front desk demeanor was night and day. In Milan they were very cold and unwelcoming. In Venice, they were so kind and pleasant. The staff was super helpful in recommending places to eat, things to do, you name it. And the shuttle to San Marco was perfect as well-- provided by the hotel! The breakfast was amazing. And if you are a Marriott gold member it is included in your stay. The garden in the back was dreamy. We loved every minute spent here, and would definitely stay here again!

The hotel is very beautiful but is very far from everything. It is very far from any main tourist attraction or good eating places. From the train station, you can take the water bus line 42 or 52 which is a lot cheaper than the taxi. The line that goes to the airport also passes by the same port for the hotel (Orto) so you dont need to take the water taxi or the hotel service. The concierge will not volunteer this information and will just offer you their service which costs 140 euros. For a five star hotel, the venice map that they give you is a black and white photocopy where you can barely read the street names. We definitely did not get the service we were expecting for the price that we paid.

I travel extensively for business and used mostly points while in Italy recently on vacation. My stay at the Boscola Venezia was by far one of the nicest hotels I have been able to stay in many many years. From the moment we entered the hotel, the reception clerks and concierge made us feel welcome and offered to help and did for the next 3 days. The breakfast set-up was incredible along with the service provided. The gentleman responsible for the bar treated us like royalty and made us want to enjoy dinner at the hotel one evening. He was our waiter at dinner and provided us with the same level of service. Rooms are spacious and incredibly quiet. Hotel is a 25 minute walk to San Marco Square which was perfect during carnival. would stay here every time in Venice.
