Loved this hotel. Only issue was that the beds were too hard and the front desk staff were a little nonchalant. I would recommend updating the mattresses to pillow tops. The restaurant staff were lovely.

Room tip: Get some pillow top mattresses

What we liked: breakfast selection is great, service is attentive and very friendly, location is convenient, you can watch sunrise from the breakfast room
What we did not like: decor of the lobby, old carpets in corridors, crowds outside, price-to-value ratio of a triple room during holiday season

I enjoyed this hotel. The staff was nice. I loved the breakfast. The room was very clean and I had a great view of the church. It was a pleasant stay. We stayed in 701 I believe. It was the rooms in the back of the hotel. The hotel had to parts. It's unfortunate that we could not stay in the front. The view is nicer there. I know they had a gym but didn't have enough time to use it. I loved the location. I had a great time in Venice. I believe I would stay there again.

Certainly the building is centuries old, I get that. But if you’re going to offer rooms in the 21st century, it better have hot water and good wifi. Full stop. Location is good, that’s a highlight. Apart from that, I am paying too much for a slightly warm shower.

Dear pkv0x111,

We are downhearted that your stay did not meet your expectations. We are a little bit surprised to hear that you had some issues with the hot water and wifI: you could have contacted the Front Desk in order to let us verify if there were some technical problems as no-one before and after you has reported the same issues.

We do hope to have the chance to welcome you back to make your change your mind.

Sincerely,

Customer Experience Department

We were booked into this superb hotel for 3 nights but ended with only 2 nights having missed our original flight. We were a little anxious wondering how the after effects of the flooding would affect our stay. Upon arrival we were greeted by a warm Christmas themed lobby and friendly receptionists and not a puddle in sight. We were shown to our room on second floor and although tiny with no view it was spotlessly clean with everything we needed. Slippers, robes, coffee making services and plenty of products in the bathroom. The towel rail was piping hot. Breakfast was included as well as a two course evening meal. As we missed the first night and breakfast, the hotel offered us a second 2 course meal which was well received. The hotel owns a private boat and we were invited to take a trip to Murano to one of the exquisite glass making factories. What an experience! On our last day the hotel arranged our return trip to Marco Polo Airport with the hotel water taxi.

The hotel is 5 mins from the beautiful square of St Marks and Doges Palace. The water bus stop is directly in front of the hotel which makes getting around very easy for those slightly longer journeys.

Breakfast and evening meals at hotel were very good as was Happy Hour with very good cocktails. It was sad to see how much water damage there was generally in Venice but the locals work very hard to make sure guests have a great time in this beautiful, ancient city. Would definitely recommend this wonderful hotel.
